I opened up my pool this weekend, but when I went to turn on the heater, I could not get it to work. The pilot light came on (once using the igniter, and one time I had to manually light the pilot). However, I could not get the heater to turn on.
- Pump is running.
- Lit pilot. The pilot light looks strong.
- Pushed heater "button" to On.
- Turned thermostat slowly. I can always hear the "click", and typically the heater fires right up after that, but not the case this year.
Any thoughts? I do not have any experience or knowledge regarding heaters, but if it is something that I could try before contacting a pool store to replace a part of two, I'm game. I will just need the advice in simple terms. I have attached a few pics as well of my unit. It is old, so I don't know if replacement may be the answer, but not rushing to that conclusion!
Based on my review of a few other heater questions on the forum...
