Hi!
I recently moved from a home with a pool that I maintained myself using the amazing advice and methods on this forum. My new home also has a pool that I intend to maintain myself.
Directly next to the equipment pad there is a pit that is made of cinder blocks. This pit has a wooden access panel that covers it. The pit is constantly filled with water from rainfall that is at times up to 18” deep.
Today I uncovered the pit, pumped out the water, and removed about half a wheel barrow of mud. i was hoping it was some kind of failed dry well that I could fill but to my surprise I found several pool pipes and valves. I believe these are return and skimmer lines as they roughly align with the pipes going into the ground by the pad.
Has anyone ever seen something like this before? I’m thinking someone did this to allow access to the valves though I don’t think they are actually ever accessed given they were partially buried for a long time.
Can I go ahead and bury them? What do you guys recommend?
