Pump noises

My pump has started making weird noises. It happens at both lower speeds (so I don’t think it’s related to filter pressure) and high speeds, it’s a variable speed pump, about 4 years old.

Here is a link to a video

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

I blew compressed air into the fan and it sounds like it might be *slightly" better, but the noise is still there. There are 4 (very hard to get at) screws around the back (you can see two of them on the far right of the picture. I'm thinking of trying to get that open and cleaning out the fan area. However, I'm not sure how easy they will be to unscrew, since two are towards the ground. Not sure I want to take apart the whole pump to try and get to it.

Thanks

The noise seems gone today. Initially there was no noise, then it was there for the last two days and now it seems to have resolved itself. I wonder if it's just not due to temperature? It was there this morning, but now is OK and it's sunny and warmed up outside. Right now it's about 45 Fahrenheit, yesterday and the day before were maybe high 30s F.

Is it possible it would be temperature related? Could also still be fan interference, I haven't opened stuff up yet to investigate.

Metal expands and contracts with temperature so that can affect the interference.

The other explanation could be some sort of debris that was stuck in the fan that has since cleared itself.

I managed to get the back cap off, had to do some work to get to it. The noise is back, it seems to be coming from the back fan unit I think. What kind of maintenance should I do in this? The pump usher manual doesn’t say much except to blow air. Looks pretty dirty, not sure if I can remove the natal fan blades and clean it out?

Rotate it and see if it is hitting anywhere. Also check the inside of the cap that you pulled off to see if there are any scraps.
