This excavation is a pain. So far we have hit a ton of rock and are only 4 feet deep. They are coming back this week with bigger equipment which is costing me big time over the original quote. But since they left Friday I’ve seen this water start to show up. It’s filled up about 5 inches in 2 days. A little researching tells me this can be fixed if need be but at what costs? I can’t keep affording to pay thousands at every corner. So my questions are have any of you ran Into this and what was the cost to fix water issues during the dig? Exactly what did they do?

Hey bob. Sorry it’s going difficult for you.

It’s kinda funny you chose these exact words. If they hit ground water when building my pool, the solution was to sink a well point at each corner and pump the ground water water away while the cement dried. Once the pool is full the inside/outside waters equalize and live peacefully together. It was $1000 each well point, so $4k. Regional pricing and difficulty drilling the ground could alter that cost I imagine.

The one thing my builder said was not guaranteed to be a set price was the excavation. If they hit rock the price would go up. Fortunately we had no issues with rock or groundwater. He did tell me a horror story of another build where they had to add an additional $25k to the total build. Here's hoping you're past the major issues!

We hit water at 4ft, the PB put in 4 well points to keep it dry during the excavation. The contract stated up front that well points, if required, would be $375 per. We have sand though, not rock.
