New Build in Louisiana - sketch attached

Hey guys, I am in the process of building a home and also a pool. I am in the planning stages of the pool, and I am attaching our latest sketch. I'm mainly looking for design ideas at this point, we haven't even gotten to equipment, finishes etc. My wife and I both like clean lines, so the geometric works for us. The spa will be in the 5x7 or 6x8 range, with a spillover waterfall into the pool. We have 2 children, 6 and 8, who will more than likely be in this thing 9 months out of the year. We like to entertain, and have a few couples that we can see coming over to enjoy the pool and backyard area. I will have an outdoor kitchen under the porch, with a bar along one edge that will lead onto the deck.

A few issues I can't figure out: I am torn about how far off the back of the house to start the pool. I have it drawn at 9' off the porch, but I am wondering if 8 would be okay. On one end of that area will be barstools, so it will cut into that 8-9'.
Also, in my mind the 2 congregation areas will be the porch and deck in front of the pool, and the deck area on the shallow (left side) end of the pool. We made the deck 6' wide there, and again, I am wondering if I need to adjust it to 7'.
We are also playing with the idea of a small cut out seat directly across the pool from the spa for more seating in the porch area. Maybe 18 inches deep and 6' wide. Not sure how it would look with the rest of the pool/deck area and if it is needed.

Obviously the more deck space the better, but I am trying to salvage some backyard space, as we are on a neighborhood lot. We also are "trying" to keep on budget, so we are looking at that happy medium between having enough space, but still keeping costs manageable and having some yard left over as well.

Any ideas, thought, designs are appreciated. I have lurked for a while on this forum and appreciate any feedback. Sometimes a fresh set of eyes can do wonders.

Is there a house yet? I take it you're not living in it yet? I like to recommend stakes and strings. Lay everything out and see how if feels. Populate "pool" and yard with tables, chairs, chaises, pool floaties, umbrellas, the works. Or simulate some of those with stakes and stings, too. Landscape areas, etc. You'd be surprised how much room two chaises take up. Or a table for six with chairs, with some of the chairs pulled out. Walk around everything, to check for "traffic patterns," etc. See how it all looks together. How it feels. Move strings as needed until you dial it all in.

But if you're at the dirt stage, or while crews are working on the house, that'd be pretty tough. Are you looking to get everything built and done, then just move in? That'll present some interesting challenges. Or is it house first, move in, then pool?

Like all construction, maybe even a bit more so, pool construction needs your supervision, and attention. Divided between house and pool, it'll be, well, divided. Plenty of threads here describing PB slip ups and oversights, some caught by diligent, watchful owners, others snuck through and couldn't be corrected.

Not meaning to put a damper on your project, just sharing some of the possibilities that are not always obvious.

Yes the house is up and is bricked. Builder is working inside now, should be done within the next 2-3 months. I have sort of laid it out using boards and sticks from the construction site, but this weekend I will try to lay everything out in the yard.

I was hoping to start the pool during the last month or two of construction (beginning in the next 2-3 weeks or so) and have them finish up within a few weeks of each other. I didn't want to wait until after we moved in to get started due to fencing, landscaping etc. I have met with the PB twice and am scheduled to see him again on Friday to finalize pool dimensions and placement.
