Well, our journey as first time pool owners (and builders) begins! Pool should arrive in 7-10 days so we'll start ground prepping and getting some supplies on a "day off" tomorrow. I've attached a sketch (somewhat crude) of what we hope to achieve, depending on how deep before we hit the water table (central Florida, somewhat low-lying area). Would like to bury the pool 2-3 feet and grade a deep center to a depth of 6-7 feet.

I am and will be all ears to comments and suggestions as we build, so TFP experts chime in! THANK YOU!

Day 1 is in the books. That's the last time I'll let a sod cutter kick my butt, next time I'll just buy a pallet of sod instead of trying to transplant! Found an old plastic septic tank that will need to come out, a few more pennies added to the budget :( but the unexpected should always be expected in construction right? Now just waiting on the septic guy and the tractor guy before we can go any further. Time to kick back with a cold one for now.

U sure that septic is abandoned. Code in most places is to remove or collapse tank and fill in. Would not want to find out the hard way it's a active part of your system

I'll let the septic guy make final determination and removal. But there is a cut pipe coming from it and a stump/roots nearby which makes me think it was abandoned. Will know this week hopefully.

Is that pool rated for in ground use ? I didn't see any mention of it in the description. I am in the market for a pool myself but I will NOT be doing the work myself. So finding a pool, someone to do the work, etc is quite the challenge.
