Finally making progress with the AG pool installation. Spent all day Saturday and a few hours Sunday getting leveled within an inch in my hard Alabama clay. I had to come down about 5 inches on the upper side. My little Kubota has come in handy.

I added a thin layer of sand just to smooth out the slight dips and cut marks. Next is 3/4" extruded polystyrene foam, pavers for the legs, and pool setup.

Unfortunately a summer storm with crazy rain and wind came through while I was working on the foam. Hopefully I can still get it finished before the long weekend is over.

Am I missing anything?

Looks like you're on the right path. Your equipment and a trusty laser level should do you well. As with all projects, it all starts at the base, so take your time. Not much you can do after the water is in but hit yourself on the head. :hammer: Hopefully we'll see a pool full of water soon. Good luck!

Well, after fighting the rain and storms yesterday and overnight, the pool is finally up. It has about a foot of water at this point. After an inch or two of rain and some mud issues, my base ended up not quite as level as I had hoped, but still within about an inch.

I have my TF-100 test kit, CYA, and 10% liquid chlorine. I know I need to add CYA and test/adjust the chlorine and pH levels.

Do I go ahead and base the chlorine calculation on a CYA of 40? What is the best way to add the CYA if you don't have a skimmer?

Did pool school have information about how long to stay out of the pool for specific chemicals?

Thanks for the help. This website has been a great resource to help get going.
