Normal for vinyl to fade?

Is it normal for vinyl to fade almost to white? It's the original liner installed in 2012 by previous owner. IMG_2725.jpg This is my first vinyl pool, previous was fiberglass.
NW Florida sun, about 4.5 air miles to the Gulf. Most of the pool gets sun all day, but the fade is everywhere. FYI.....Pool has a SWG if that may play a part.
 
That's a really hard to answer per "normal" as fading can certainly occurs more rapidly in an improperly chlorinated pool and you don't know how it was taken care of (actual chemical levels) before you took over. Over time a liner is going to fade. It just will sun, chlorine, etc all contribute. But proper chemical levels are the best defense.
