Air in my filter! Please help!

I have a Hayward filter that I'll attach pictures of. I inherited this filter and the pipes from the previous owner. It's circulating the water really well and everything seems to be working. The only issue is I continually have to keep bleeding off air. It's about everybody 15 minutes or so it is filed with air and I have to bleed it out. I've duct taped all my connections to try and make them air tight. I have replaced all my o-rings and I'm still getting air. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

It's not the filter, you must have a suction side leak. Look in the top of the pump pot. Is it full of water, or half air? Most common source is the lid itself. Make sure the o-ring is clean and coated with the proper silicone lube. If not that, to track down a suction side leak there are two tricks that are very useful. One is a can of old fashion shave foam. You can smear it on any place you suspect and watch for the foam to show up in the pump pot. Another trick is using food wrap film as a temporary seal. Wrap the suspect area and see if it stops the air leak. If so then you've found the leak.

I checked all my connections and used the plastic wrap around my lid like you said. Still getting air. Even after the water starts to spurt out the bleeder I can hear air continually spurting out with it. Any other ideas?

How about the skimmer, is the weir stuck? Is there a vortex drawing in air? If you have air in the filter, it has to get in somewhere. If not the skimmer, wrap each and every coupling and joint with plastic wrap one by one until you find the culprit.
