    Slight Green Hue

Thank you will start the process. Any reason to use or not use the solar cover during the process?

    Slight Green Hue

I have a 18 foot above ground pool that has a slight green look to it. When I brush the bottom it looks like like some kind of green dust is on the bottom so guessing some sort of Algae issue starting? My CC is 0 my PH is around 7.2-7.5 hard to read the colors. My CYA is around 30. I current...

    Intex sand filter sand escaping

I have a 16inch Intex sand filter that is a year old. I just added a vacuum on the return that comes with a small prefilter cone. I noticed it keeps getting clogged with sand particles after a day or two of use. It doesn’t take much to clog this filter. Before I go about tearing apart the...

    Intex zx300??

I have had that happen to me as well. I am guessing some derbies is getting stuck in the flapper. It hasn’t been a major issue. My bigger issue is it gets stuck by my staircase a lot so I need to figure that out.

    Hayward Skimmer Final Steps...

I just screwed in the Hayward skimmer by splitting the gasket in two. My water level is about 2 inches below the grey line on my Intex so it was very nerve racking poking holes and and seeing water spray out of the holes. About 20 mins later I have the skimmer mounted to the side of the pool...

Remove Hayward Skimmer for Winter Storage?

Thinking about installing the skimmer, but what do you guys do for storage? Last year I rolled up the liner as best as I could and thinking I would maybe have to remove this before storing? If you remove do you do anything to proct the liner etc where you cut the hole?

Hayward Skimmer came with cork gasket, not rubber butterfly gasket

Looking at various items online it looks like maybe the cork gasket was for the older 1090 vs 1091LX? Did the box say a model number?

    Intex zx300??

Yea that could be. Will just have to monitor my pressure and backwash more I guess. Given I start off in the mid green level I cant recall if that is normal or if I need to try to deep clean the sand. I have backwashed etc but I have seen videos of people taking it apart and doing a better...

    Intex zx300??

The only issue I have so far is it does get stuck on my staircase I have in the pool. I can't blame intext since it is not an intex staircase. Guessing if you have nothing in the pool it would work fine going up and down the walls.

    Intex zx300??

My guess is the mesh filter between the sand filter and the vacuum isn't helping the PSI either.

    Intex zx300??

One other issue I noticed (maybe the same with the old unit) but my sand filter shows about a 5-7psi increase when using the vacuum. So I am going from middle of the green to bottom of the yellow. Just having the attachment i noticed maybe 2-3 psi increase and then adding the vacuum another...

    Intex zx300??

So far so good. Only been a few hours but using it with a cover. My only concern is if the tubing or the unit climbing the wall and touching the cover will cause it to fail quicker than normal. I did have the tube fall once but that might have been user error. I checked the screen after a...

    Intex zx300??

I finally setup my pool and tried out this unit for the first time. This was my first time with a vacuum so not sure what to expect but it definitely climbs the walls. Will have to see how it works with a solar cover on.

Moving On Up - Intex 16 inch Sand Pump for 18 x 48 Coleman - Question about Pool Outlet and Inlets

I have a 18x48 Intex the outlet jet is already a 1.5" on mine. The two inlets are 1.25" but my original pump came with a T plunger to accept both 1.25" and convert to a 1.5". So Kept them as is with a skimmer on one of the inlets. Seems to work fine the skimmer on the sand filter never has...
