    I thought it should be doable by using some kind of phase/frequency modulation? But my pump has a built-in timer circuit that I would have to bypass somehow.

    Has anyone succesfully used an external pump speed controller with an Intex sand filter pump? How did you do it? Does it require bypassing the control circuit? I have an extra pump laying around and would be happy to experiment with it to save some extra bucks on power consumption.
