I actually went to Leslies which I never do, only because my wife put my test kit up for winter I can not locate it. Go figure. Also this year I had a lot of white powdery stuff that settled to the bottom 3 days after I opened it. I have nver had that happen, it covered the entire pool bottom.

So I have a 28K pool and every year I add 1/3 new water to my pool to get my CYA down to 30. This year they checked it and said its zero. I asked how that's possible and they said it dissipates over time. Is that true?

So it does nothing in regards to helping with Algae or anything else?

Is the only benefit of adding salt to a pool without a SWG to make the water softer? Other question do you have to use a different test kit if salt is present in the pool? How much do you add in a pool 25k without a SWG? Thanks
