    Jandy AquaLink Repair

I have also used BP Engineering for board repair. I was very satisfied with Bob's service - prompt and very reasonable. It sure beats buying a new All Button panel for $600+ or a used one on eBay for half that.

    New Purchase - Dolphin Sigma!!!!

The Dolphin Sigma has a (presumably solid-state) gyroscope to enable improved navigation. The Dolphin C3, which is very similar to the Sigma, apparently does not. Does anyone have first-hand experience on whether the gyro-enabled navigation in the Sigma is better than the C3 at mapping? One...

Review: Paxcess Automatic Robotic Pool Cleaner

Jim, Thanks for your reply. Two items: I'm totally aware that algae is a sanitation, not a scrubbing, problem. I monitor and dose my own pool using sodium hypochlorite. I included the information regarding filter mesh size above for those who might want to use a robotic cleaner as an aid to...

Review: Paxcess Automatic Robotic Pool Cleaner

I've recently become aware of the potential advantages of a robotic pool cleaner over the older technology (e.g. my current pressure-side Polaris 280). I'm recovering from knee surgery, so I'd like to "get some help" in scrubbing the pool walls, in particular. To that end, I've recently acquired...

Robotic Cleaner for Long In-Ground Pool

I have a long (~60') in-ground pool that is relatively narrow, approx. 25,000 gallons, and I'm looking for a robotic cleaner. Many of the models (e.g. Dolphin) say they are good for up to 50' pools. Where should I look for a robotic cleaner that will scrub my longish pool? Is it simply the cord...

Help needed - sheared-off gunite venturi nozzle

I've remeasured the nozzle and done some referencing online, and it is clear that this nozzle has a 1/2" male NPT (National Pipe Thread) thread, a normal tapered pipe thread. I've narrowed the nozzle search down to two very similar nozzles, the Waterway 217-3340 that I mentioned above, and a...

Help needed - sheared-off gunite venturi nozzle

I was able to extract the broken nozzle's nipple with the aforementioned Orbit extractor, but it was not straightforward. The T-bar handle was too short to reach the nipple, and of course it was a left-handed thread (appropriately) so there would be no way to find some all-thread to extend it...

Help needed - sheared-off gunite venturi nozzle

Sadly, no. I know that Leslie's website lists the Waterway nozzle mentioned above as something they sell. I'm hoping that a local Leslie's will have it in stock (I should be so lucky) so that I can go in and compare threading, sizing, etc. It is the only nozzle that I've seen that is even close.

Help needed - sheared-off gunite venturi nozzle

Yep, I bought this exact set at H*me D*pot this morning. Less than $5 out the door. I'll let all y'all know how it works tomorrow. I still need to identify replacement nozzles...

Help needed - sheared-off gunite venturi nozzle

Two of my spa jets were clogged, so this morning I drained the spa and removed them to clean it out. One of the nozzles came out nicely, but alas, the other sheared off. They are very old (I'll be replacing all 4 of the nozzles). Here are some relevant pix (I cannot figure out TFP's post editor...

Jandy JVA2440 - cheap microswitch replacement

This is my first post - greetings to all! If you have a Jandy JVA2440 automatic valve actuator (or similar Jandy model) and you have a failed microswitch (the valve won't move in one direction, or perhaps over-rotates), and you've looked at replacing the microswitch, you were shocked like I was...
