How to Stop Water Flowing When Replacing SWG

First, why not just stick a rag in the pipes to stop the water flow when you clean your cell? In any case, without being there and seeing exactly where water is coming from, here's the best I can suggest... First, turn your system off and set your multiport to "waste" ... that takes care of any...

We have bubbles but it's not champagne!

Silicon usually works for air leaks on suction side (of course replumb is best)... If you do replumb your system, I suggest moving your intake back with some 45 degree elbows (Just like I did it with this system: Pool Pump and Filter Installation - YouTube).... Replumbing the filter side is easy...

We have bubbles but it's not champagne!

^Gave some good suggestions on how to plumb. *Maybe better than plastic bags would be silicon (that may fix the problem for years actually). The best solution, of course, would be replumb... if you could replumb the entire intake so there is a longer straight run into the pump, that would best...

    My Pool is a Swamp

Last week, we worked on a pool that looked about like that one... one of the men working with me was using a scoop net to clear some debris off the bottom. He got a really big/heavy scoop - when he got it out, we noticed it looked a little strange... it wasn't leaves, but a dead dog :uhh...

Help With Stains on Salt Pool

Thanks for the help... I'll read that post on calcium nodules later tonight :goodjob:

Help With Stains on Salt Pool

I appreciate all your insights. When I took the pool over, the only problem was the calcium spots. I made the water more aggressive and that helped with the spots. Then, all of a sudden, the white film started to appear like a cancer over the bottom. The only thing I did to the pool (apart...

Help With Stains on Salt Pool

Thanks.... the white film covers everything (about 1/5 of the bottom of the pool). I thought it was just sunlight hitting the bottom of the pool at first. Then it grew like a cancer... keeping the water aggressive & wire brush (and the sequestering agent) has seemed to help (a little). And it's...

    Filter sand in pool

Could be a hairline crack in the standpipe (or laterals)... some times, these types of crack are very hard to see - especially when everything is off and there is no pressure in the system. However, when the pump is running, the crack widens and could be causing the problem.

Help With Stains on Salt Pool

We recently took over a pool - it's a 20,000+ gallon salt pool. When I took the pool over, the salt level was around 1800ppm which was too low for the unit to work properly (it has a 40k purechlor system which requires salt to be in the range of 3500ppm - 4500ppm). In any case, it's a beautiful...

    First SLAM but water milky

I was using the term 'burnt out' to describe what can happen to some filters when you attempt to clear a VERY cloudy pool for days and days... it puts a lot of strain on cartridge filters, for example. Also, I think it waste energy/time. However, as others have pointed out, there are good...

    First SLAM but water milky

In my experience, if you use floc properly, it works great... Honestly, I don't understand running your pump for days to clear your pool. You waste a lot of energy and put a lot of strain on your filter/pump/etc - many times, you'll burn out your filter. Furthermore, as in this example, it...

    First SLAM but water milky

I would probably floc the pool... for whatever reason, I think floc is frowned on by members here - but I think it would clear your pool & save you some headache.
