Best Method To Calculate Water Volume?

The last fresh fill was in 2018 when the pool was installed (for context, we have owned this house since before the pool was here, but it was a vacation rental until last fall and the pool was managed by a vendor). Since it's a fiberglass pool and we live at the beach, we were cautioned by the...

    Installing A Timer - 110v or 220v?

Thanks for the info. The breaker is two bays wide, with a single bar on the right-hand bay. I tried to remove the access cover but it was stuck and I didn't want to force it off unless it was necessary. I'll check out the digital timers. Thanks for the link! Oh, and I definitely won't...

Thanks. I was hoping to avoid this trial and error, but it's likely where I'll end up.

    Installing A Timer - 110v or 220v?

(note: please ignore the pool in my signature - I have recently moved and haven't updated it yet) This may be a question for an electrician, but I thought I would start here. The pool at my new house does not have a timer, so the pump runs 24x7. I'm looking to install a timer and am looking...

Best Method To Calculate Water Volume?

(note: please ignore the pool in my signature - I have recently moved and haven't updated it yet) I have a 10' x 20' kidney-shaped pool, and am struggling a bit to get the volume dialed in. I have done several of the online calculators, have re-measured (the 10'x20' seems to be the outer...

@Mdragger88 I cleaned the drain cover the best I could. No lights in the pool, so nothing to clean there. My CC has been 0.5 for a while now, and I've passed the OCLT multiple times, so I've just been waiting for the water to be perfectly clear. And I'm happy to report, today is the day. I...

As a side note, you may notice that I became a Gold Supporter this morning! This thread alone has saved me much more than $100, so it was the least I could do to give back to this awesome community.

Almost there, folks. This is my pool cleaner and drain, at the bottom of the deep end (8 feet). Still a tiny bit cloudy, so I'm still slamming, but I think I'll be at the point of letting the FC drop back down within a day or two. Thanks again for all the help!

Just a daily update. Pool is slightly clearer today than it was yesterday, but not quite there yet. So we be slammin'!

@roblock Good luck! It's really fun when you actually see it working!

@roblock - Follow the advice in this forum, and you'll be swimming in no time. Some really knowledgeable folks here. @IUsedToSail - The main reason mine took so long is because my initial CYA reading was off. Once I realized that and addressed it, everything went really fast. That said, your...

Keeping it going. Still can't quite see the bottom of the deep end, but I have to believe it's going to be any day now. So close!

Haven't been updating this thread as frequently, but have been staying on top of the measuring and dosing the pool. Will hopefully be able to send a proper "after" picture within the next few days. The shallow end is clear and I can *almost* see the bottom of the deep end. The finish line is...

@Newdude - Thanks for the heads-up. Pool Owner Patience is not my strong suit, but looking out in the back yard and seeing a clearing pool makes me extremely happy. @Mdragger88 - I've had about half a dozen gauges over the years with the same results, so I don't think it's a broken gauge. The...
