    Pool LED Sadness

Try rebooting your controller. I have intellicenter and just the other day I was trying to turn on the lites with my phone and things were not normal, such as lite would turn on then shut off a few min later or not turn on or both pool and spa would turn on but not just the spa. I went to the...

    Thoughts on Red Dots

One possibility: I noticed the concrete mites are out now. If crushed or otherwise dead: They can make red marks on the apron and presumably elsewhere. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clover_mite

    Salt source

Does it have pebbles/detritus? If no, even better! I was using Clean & Pure at $40/bag but it’s got a lot of grit/pebbles.

    Salt source

Didn’t do much searching but I think I found my new source for salt. Food grade table salt, 50 lb bag $13.50 + shipping. Great price compared to what I have been paying for so-called pool salt, plus there’s no pebbles...

    Cover lid bristles

I use this on my spa cover pump. It transfers water to the pool cover. Then the pool cover pump has a short hose that goes to a drain pipe. I used to have one on the pool pump too shooting into the grass, but it made my side yard too soggy. The spout works really well and its main advantages are...

    Cover lid bristles

Follow-up on this. for any interested party. I used Loctite Power Grab to attach the strip brush holder to the lid. Fast forward to today and every single one has failed. Useless product! I re-did a couple of them about 6 months ago with JB weld epoxy and the other two today. Proper prep being...

We Have a Winner! TFP Pool of the Month (February 2025); "The Nerve Center" - Equipment Pads

Thank you, thank you! You can see more details at my thread here: waterfall re-plumbing Long story short, I got ripped off and had to re-do the plumbing myself. While in the process of doing it, I came to find out that Pentair couldn't deal with controlling 2 chlorinators independently, so I...

    sensor install leak potential

Counter-intuitive: you need to NOT tighten the hose clamp too much. Too tight and it will leak. I put mine on with only slight tension on the screw.

    Labels to use for plumbing

I bought a used Ptouch PTD400 $25 off ebay and use various sizes/colors of ptouch TZE labels which say they are laminated for indoor/outdoor use.

    Sheer Descent Plumbing Question

Only reason I used the valve w/slip union l as a 90 on my retrofit is because I didn’t have room for anything else. In your case, I’d probably use a straight valve somewhere since you the room, but a valve box in any case.

    Sheer Descent Plumbing Question

I put the valve on the vertical and also a valve box for mine. This is a 3-way valve with a cap on one of the outlets.

    Keeping Spa Open Over Winter

I keep my spa open all year round. We used it all last winter several times per week. I keep it at 70 deg and if I feel I’ll use it, then a couple hrs prior set it to 97 deg or whatever. I have a 2-body system with no shared equipment, so different from yours. If you have intellivalves...
