Fire Rock Square Coping on Round Pool Does this Bother You?

The only way to get it more "round" - is to make more cuts and therefore shorten each (looks like) 24" piece into say 6" pie shapes. The below is our pool with 6" width bullnose travertine, each carefully cut by the masons to make it look more or less "round" to use your term. 4" width would...

Vinyl v. Guinite in Alpharetta, GA

Before we "pooled" (can I coin that phrase?!) - we looked at fiberglass and gunite (shotcrete actually). I did not really consider vinyl, but my perception was it would cost less than fiberglass or gunite. I initially expected fiberglass also to be less cost than gunite - but I found the...

    Expensive mistake

I hope that mounting bracket is either stainless steel, brass or plastic - otherwise if just steel/plated steel - you will see rust in no time. Also - the mounting screw will need to be stainless or brass as well. Good luck - in getting the cable sealed.

    New Build - DFW

We ran just over 100' thru the our house. Used Tracpipe CounterStrike corrugated stainless gas piping. Was able to get it thru the house with only one fitting/union. Had the gas company install a 2psi meter, ran 2psi in this line thru the house, to a step down regulator at the pool heater. I...

01 May 2024 Update: Schedule update - the final month?

We used black with a dark blue tile. Starlike EVO Epoxy Grout 145 Nero Carbonio (Black) - that was the blackest grout we could find. I love the black in your pictures. -Tom

What is this pipe sticking out of the ground?

To me - that looks to be about 8" in diameter - so my bet is for a sump pump to pump water from under/around the pool.

    New Build - DFW

Be prepared for every step to be very "fluid". And don't be surprised when a crew shows up unannounced. I added a driveway alarm to alert me to any visitors so I could easily tell when a crew (or person) arrived. Our tile and coping crew would arrive about 5:30-6am and eat breakfast in their...

Start with a small pool with hopes to build bigger later, or save up for the pool we want?

When we looked into gunite/shotcrete vs fiberglass pools - the cost for a complete package was about the same in the Atlanta area. I was comparing similar sized pools though, not one smaller vs larger. I see you mention HOA - many HOAs don't allow above ground pools - so that may not be an...

    Fill day!!!

Or add a 2 liter soda bottle to the end of the hose so it floats on the surface vs spraying the fresh plaster floor.

The latest issue with the nightmare build in AZ, pool lights

I feel your pain. With my build - the electrician tried to install a circuit breaker with a date code of 2008 in my main panel. It looked like it had been in the bottom of a bucket filled with mud since 2008. He actually did install it - and I found it on my inspection of his work. Also - my...

Aluminum pool fence brand or supplier recommendation?

I think you need to be careful here. I don't think that meets code. From the 2018 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code - Section 305 Barrier Requirements: On a 54 inch high fence - with two top rails - the distance needs to be checked between the lower top rail and the bottom rail - to...
