    Cloudy water

I should also mention that there is a very fine silt on the bottom that can't be vacuumed by the robot because it comes right through the bag. So I'm going to vacuum to waste to get rid of the silt and hope the cloudiness goes away.

    Cloudy water

I was following the app. TA is 90, pH is 7.7

    Cloudy water

Following TFP for raising alkalinity, I added 4 lbs of washing soda to my 20k in-ground pool. The initial bloom of cloudiness was expected. However, 3 days later the pool is still cloudy. Not sure what went wrong. Chemistry is mostly in balance.

    Chlorine numbers are way off

Here's the deal: Pool is clear, but for the last couple of weeks, chlorine numbers have been in the .5 - 1. range for FCL and .9 - 1.6 TCL. My CYA was at 30 so I added 6# to raise it to approx. 60PPM, it's at 38 today. Yesterday, I added 2.5 gals of 12.5% shock and 3# of powdered shock since...

    Advice on an SWG setup

So here's a couple shots of the CPSC-36 setup I did (sorry I shot them with my cell camera). I didn't follow all the installation rules, but it's working as expected, so I'm happy with it. With my setup, I found that I have to ramp up my pump to 1,500 RPM and run 50% output on the SWG for 8...

    Advice on an SWG setup

Thanks for your suggestion. I've been running this pool for 3 seasons 24/7 at this setting, which works out to a little over 20k in 24 hours, so 1 full turn of the water. This was the suggestion from the PB and it seems to be on the money. The only problem has been the chlorine feeder which...

    Advice on an SWG setup

Flow rate calculates out to 13.9 GPM at 163 watts, so just a shade over 20k/24 hours. I could dial up speed 1550 RPM/264 watts for 12 hours and get the same turnover for about a 13 cent per day savings (.82 vs. .69), but I just like the 24/7 run since it keeps the water moving and I feel there's...

    Advice on an SWG setup

So I went with the CompuPool CPSC36. Installation was pretty straight forward, about an hour and a half start to finish. Salt was added a few days ago and it was 3400 PPM this morning, so I started the unit and after it ran thru its diagnostics, it started producing chlorine. Because my FC/TC is...

    Advice on an SWG setup

Okay, here's my setup, looking for advice on an SWG setup: Pentair variable speed inteliflow pump and sand filter on a 19k+ fiberglass pool w/ 2" plumbing. I typically run my pump low speed 24/7 during the season and have very few problems using BBB/1" tri-chlor tabs. Thought about going with...

Roll call: What cleaner do you use? Are you happy with it?

After reading all of this thread, I thought I'd post my 2 cents on the issue. This summer, I had a 15x38 (20k gal.) Leisure fiberglass installed. The builder supplied us with a Polaris 360 as part of the package, telling us it was a good unit. Fast forward: the pool's up and running and the...
