No filter pressure on brand new install

I am pleased to report my husband has fixed the pool. We tried pouring 5 gallons of water in the skimmer to “prime” the pump at the direction of our salesman. That didn’t do it. So my husband went through all the pipes and fittings again. Maybe it was the pressure of those 5 gallons being dumped...

No filter pressure on brand new install

I put a call into the plumbing company that did the plumbing. I doubt they will cal, us back this weekend. Hoping they call back on Monday. Also, a rep from The Great Escape will be coming out tomorrow to try to diagnose the issue. So frustrating. 😞

Here is our thought. They buried the PVC suction and return pipes. Since we had three external leaks already on the return side, we are betting that there is an underground leak on the suction side. Would that be possible? Crappy work? (We did not install ourselves) We are monitoring an area...

O ring is well lubed Union before pump secure Yes, checked filter, removed and tested without filter also. That valve controls the rate of chlorine. I guess that’s you mean by sanitation? Again, total n00bs here.

correct. The suction is almost non existent with those open and pump on. And yes, we open the valves, take off cover and water gushes out. But pump was off. The pump basket is running dry.

The water level is high enough, at least halfway up the skimmer. Well it was, we lost quite a bit during trouble shooting. The door on the skimmer is not stuck closed. O ring is well lubed.

Dang. I’m sorry you are going through all that. Yes, we pulled permits. We did buy from TGE. We had an intex inflatable top ring pool and then the frame pool for years. We decided to make the upgrade and it’s been a stressful event. I stress over big decisions. 😆 Knowing now what I didn’t know...

Oh I know the cost. 3 inches of digging is included as part of the install. We pay for the sand and blocks, $360. To dig 18 inches will cost $540. The drain tiles should we decide to use them are about $400.
