SWG with new variable speed pump

Thanks, both of you! Although I have Aqua Logic, the new pump (with built-in timer) was installed with power being the only connection to the controller (so the schedule in the pump is the only thing that can select the current speed). I may need to order the remote control cable for the pump...

What is the correct chlorine ppm for a SWG pool?

I have to chime in: The FC/CYA relationship is probably the most important thing I've learned from this Forum. I've not had an algae problem once since I found this website, and I believe it is because I now understand that item, and because I now treat my FC level as having a quite flexible...

SWG with new variable speed pump

Thank you both! Next question (although I *really* may be in the wrong section of the forum now): would it be the same idea for the pool heater? Assuming you are above it's minimum flow, at lower flow rates you get hotter water at the return jet, but same amount of total heat added to the...

SWG with new variable speed pump

I wasn't sure what forum area to post this in, but since the SWG is my first concern, I started here. My pump would hum but not spin as I attempted to open my pool this year, and I got a late start anyway as we've been busy and the warm weather's coming. Time being of the essence, I called my...

AquaLogic Showing Low salt even though it is not

My experience, 10 years with an Aqua Logic P4, and currently on my 3rd cell, is that I get low salt when the salt is not low for some time before the cell completely dies. So, yeah, probably new cell time for you.

    totally new

Ooh, I'm way late replying, but if someone else comes along and finds this later... To figure how much, use the pool calculator, at poolcalculator.com (You'll find a link to it in the pool school section here, for future reference).

    totally new

I'm fairly new here, but with 6 years experience with an inground pool with a SWG. In my experience, you could get your chlorine level up with just your generator, but you don't want to. Use bleach to bring it up to your initial chlorine level, and to shock when necessary. Use the SWG to...

    Hey, thanks guys!

    TA question

Not sure if "Just getting started" is the right place to post this; I'm in my 6th year of pool ownership, and discovered TFP last year. However, it is my first post. I've got a 29,000 gal vinyl sided pool, SWG for chlorine. I cannot thank you enough for the explanation of the relationship...
