    Installing SWG myself-plumbing setup

Interesting product, the Flood Plug, but I’m only seeing them in 1.5” and 2” sizes and the piping my large valves are on looks to be 4”. Can I just unthread from the unions on those, albeit while getting soaked and thread in new diverters?

    Installing SWG myself-plumbing setup

Could I just eliminate the check valve and get rid of everything between the red lines and the install the salt cell and a Y or T to keep using the cleaner return or would you cap that return line? How do I swap ball valves for diverters without draining the pool? The equipment is below the pool.

    Installing SWG myself-plumbing setup

I’d like to convert to salt and have a Pentair control system. I’m leaning towards an IC-60 system for my 30,000 gallon pool that’s on the south side of my house in full sun all day. I’ve attached a couple pics of my equipment pad. Is there enough space to keep the salt cell far enough from the...

    Options for mounting SWG

The 2” out of the heater was my thinking. I’d remove the check valve, tab feeder and cut the booster out but keep the booster return tied in so I get flow out of that return in the pool. I’ll read up on the heater bypass, thanks. Edit-keep the check valve if adding a heater bypass via a...

    Options for mounting SWG

I have all Pentair stuff and am growing tired of handling gallons of liquid chlorine. I’m thinking of an IC-60 cell but not sure it can go on 3” pipe. Is there any reason I can’t reduce the straight stretch of return pipe down to 1.5 or 2” or whatever the IC-60 is to install the IC-60...

    2nd Pentair cleaner pump in 2 years...dead

It didn’t kick on but you could hear the relay click or whatever it is. I called the pool company, they came out, confirmed there’s power to the pump after removing the top cover over the wiring. Tried kicking it on a few times and it let the smoke out of the wires.

    2nd Pentair cleaner pump in 2 years...dead

Thanks for the ideas. If they will warranty this I’ll use the same model junk pump and hope I get 2 years out of it. Then maybe I’ll look into the robotic cleaners as my cleaner will be 6 years old and require some new parts/rebuilding. If anything, with it being down for the last week+ I’ve...

    2nd Pentair cleaner pump in 2 years...dead

They are proposing installing a Zodiac PB4SQ pump. Is that the same as the Polaris PB4?

    2nd Pentair cleaner pump in 2 years...dead

My cleaner is a Goby GYP8 that looks to be identical to a Polaris 380. My Failed pump is model # LA-MS05.

    2nd Pentair cleaner pump in 2 years...dead

Hoping the pool builder will warranty this again or work with me on a solution. My Pentair 1.1 hp boost-rite pump is dead. The pool is on its 4th season and they already replaced it one time and said there was a bad batch of these pumps at that time. Well it’s dead again and now they are...

    Opening pool-Low FC, High CC...ammonia?

I don’t know what they used but there was a bottle of antifreeze upside down in each skimmer. I vacuumed what I could out of the skimmers before filling the pool but I’m not sure how much if any was down in the lines.
