I am considering getting a gas pool heater. My pool is 20 x 40 and starts at 3.5 ft and goes to 8 ft. After 3:30 PM the pool starts to get shaded. How many BTUs will I need? Based on the calculators online, it looks like 150k. However, it seems low to me. Please let me know your thoughts.

I am in south jersey and with tax it was $269 but I am doubtful they added in all of the chemicals you mentioned. Even without the chemicals, it is still much lower in cost.

Thanks, the pool builder came out without an issue and claims it was a loose screw in the steps and fixed the liner. We'll keep an eye on it. I have a feeling these steps will be a continual problem.

Oh no, I was hoping it would have received better reviews. We got a new pool last year and we were told this was the "best" cover to get (and probably because it was the most expensive!). We have a back yard full of trees (like a forest).

The pool opening sounds high. In NJ they are no more than $200.

I am in south jersey. Is the rule of thumb to wait until the water temp hits 60? This is my first year opening an inground pool. I was going to wait until closer to Memorial Day so save electric/chemicals but you all have me thinking otherwise.

They would have to truck it somewhere either way is how I'm seeing it...
