    Niche Corrosion

Here is a picture... I removed the potting material. I think it was butyl tape. You can still see it on the light cable. Will AB-1000 work on a metal niche?

James thanks for the response. I cant get a picture right now it back underwater due to recent rain but it looks like the potting failed. The only wire/cable in the niche is the one for the light. Once the we get a clear day I wll get a picute.

    Niche Corrosion

6 years ago we had the light niche (SS) in our fiberglass pool replaced. This year I noticed we had a leak and rust colored dot on the bottom of the pool. It looks like our light niche (SS) (pentair 78232400) bond lug has corroded. What might cause this?

    What is this?

Yes Dave there is a main drain which is connected to the skimmer. I can adjust a valve in the skimmer to include or exclude the main drain. Is there a way to test your idea?

    What is this?

We have a late 70's fiberglass pool and I'm trying to identify this metal tube in the deck. You can see it at the top of first picture below. Its located about 7' from the skimmer and descends at an angle towards the deep end of the pool. I have removed the cap and there isn't any water in it...
