Saw a new to me SWG product

I was in Walmart this morning getting stocked up on baking soda, borax, stabilizer, and bleach when I saw "salt restore" or somthing like that. It claimed to rujuvinate salt and cut down on salt usage. I didn't read much on it since I figured it was a gimmick. Is there a use for such a product?

    Question on sequestering agents

Dang...so I need to buy stock in Jack's then? How often will I have to add Jack's to keep it deactivated? Will the copper get lower each time I have to replace water from backwashing, splashing,or when it rains?

    Question on sequestering agents

I'm having to use Jacks metal magic for copper removal. My question is where does the sequestered metals go? Do they stay in the filter until backwashed? Do they ever leave ?

    Still have filter issues

I was just told by the one pool store to replace the lateral assembly in the filter. Another fellow told me that it was normal for some particles to get by?

    Still have filter issues

I added cya acid again yesterday and there was still some coming out the returns in the pool. Maybe a handful out of each my best guess. After the first time I noticed this I took the filter apart to look at the sand. I seemed to be channeling around the pipe because all the other sand was...

300 lb Sta_rite sand filter question

I cleaned my sand last week and noticed the level of sand seemed low to me. About 60 to 65% full. Anybody know the proper level I should be running for the best filtration? Thanks

    Possible sand filter problem.

I'll look on the filter housing again for stamped info. I know there wasn't a sticker on it. My pool is 6 years old and I have never looked at the filter. Would it be a good idea just to go ahead and replace the sand anyway? What kind of sand would I need? Thanks again.

Thanks guys. I've added 6lbs over the week. I'm up to 30 ppms now. But the last time I added the acid ran into another problem with the filter.lol I think I found the problem on that. Thanks for all the help.

    Possible sand filter problem.

After reading alot last night I decided to just pull the valve assembly and take a look. I was suprised at the Crud that was piled up in the on top of the sand. I'm hoping I found the problem. The sand around the edge was compacted and the sand around the center pipe was normal. I'm hoping...

    Possible sand filter problem.

Hey guy's I added cya acid to my skimmer as directed....some of the granules came out of the returns to the pool. I double checked the valve and made sure it was on filter. My pool has been a little cloudy. What do I need to look at in the filter? The pool is 6 year old. Thanks

23,000 gals Does that seem WAY too much to add? The pool calc said for 0 cya going to 80ppms would require a little over 15 lbs. I'm going to add a little acid to atleast get a base line like Jason mentioned.

I tested twice to be sure with the TF-100 and both times less than twenty. Emptied the entire bottle of reagent mixture and the dot was just as clear as can be. Last time I checked it was 30....that was just a couple months ago. We have got alot of rain. It never crossed my mind to watch this...
