FAS-PDP chlorine test kits in Australia?

Contact Clear Choice Labs. They are based in Brisbane. I have to give them a big shout out as they went all out to get me a Chlorine test kit (even though out of stock) just this past weekend during my slam. I would recommend buying their complete test kit not just the Chlorine kit.

Help pool gine green with a lot of rain!

Been SLAMing last couple of days and so surprised how quickly the water has gone from dark green to murky green, murky, to cloudy. Over night FC test appears to have past although quite difficult using older dpd powder. Just want to know at what FC level is it safe to throw my robot into the...

Help pool gine green with a lot of rain!

I use CCL test kit. The powder is a bit old, but the titration agent is new. So the change point is not so clearly defined. i just checked my FC and it is now 13.5. Ph is 7.2 after adding 1lt of acid. The liquid chlorine is 12.5%. i found the cya tests I do are very close to what pool shop...

Help pool gine green with a lot of rain!

I've been away for 2 weeks and ensured my pool balance was correct before I left. Pool clarity was excellent! However I have come back to a very green pool. I did a quick test FC test last night and it was over 10. I was expecting it to be like 1 or zero... in any case i threw in 2 litres...

Does the FAS DPD Titrating reagent go stale?

Yes it’s the CCL kit not TF kit. i also found with the powder the solution change at end of test is a bit blurred, or grey as you say but I think it gets me in the ball park. ill try crushing the powder up too as it the bigger grains may not fill the spoon up properly and effect the test.

Does the FAS DPD Titrating reagent go stale?

Hi Maddie, I would have to check the bottle at home, but I'm sure it doesn't have expiry. Some of the other bottles do though. Any idea how an expired reagent would effect the test? (not sure how old mine was)

Does the FAS DPD Titrating reagent go stale?

I found my latest FC levels have jumped from 12 to 20 just by using a new bottle of Titrating reagent. I know the instructions say to put lid cap back on to stop reagent going bad, but does the air in the bottle cause it to degrade over time - and if so does it cause the FC reading to be a lot...

Recommendatios for salt water chorinators in Australia

G'day Keelie, Most of the pool shops in my area push either Astral or Zodiac. It could be the same with guy coming out to you place. I think this has more to do with Franchise obligations then anything else. Ive been told that Astral has very good after sales service, however, I once visited...

Pros / Cons: Low FC+ CYA vs High FC + CYA ??

Wow lot of responses. Thank you. My head hurts now. Lol. I know that with the higher FC / CYA my pool has never looked better and that is probably the answer right there. (This is all interesting because I gave my SWG cell (first) clean the other day and have notice a big spike in the FC...

Pros / Cons: Low FC+ CYA vs High FC + CYA ??

:D Thanks for your response - that makes sense. I can see now there would be a lot of variables that would effect how much UV a pool gets; shade from trees, summer has longer days etc OK, I have some more tweaking to do on my TFP water balance. ;) Cheers Squib

Pros / Cons: Low FC+ CYA vs High FC + CYA ??

Assuming the correct ratios of FC and CYA in a SWG pool, what are the pros and cons of having high FC vs low FC? I try to maintain FC:6 CYA:80. Why would 4:60 not be recommended? Also why do "Most saltwater chlorine generator (SWG) pools appear to prevent algae at a lower minimum FC level...

Funny Leslie's Story - Read for chuckle

I'm surprised he wasn't selling bottles of Chloramine and asking you to come back next week for another free pool water test to see 'where it's at'.

    Another testing question

I've noticed my acid demand (to reduce the ph) has dropped off quite a bit now since I have been running at a higher Ch level. Is that normal or just a coincidence?

    Another testing question

My % was at 72%. I just dropped it to 60% to lower the FC. All have to look out for the Dichlor next time I'm out. Over here all the good stuff is hidden behind such chemicals as : 'Clarify That' and 'Sparkle This'. Lol.

    Another testing question

Thanks for the feedback all. I never heard of DiChlor or if it is even available locally. It could just be a Fad?! I'm happy for the SWG to do all the work and add liquid Chlorine as and when it needs an instant hit. I've added a bit more CYA and will recheck next week to see where it's at.
