    Quick Total Alkalinity Question

Thanks for the response. We are itching to get back in the pool. I too noticed my cya is a bit low. Having the TF-100 is very inciteful. I am looking forward to being able to tell what is going on with the pool.

    Quick Total Alkalinity Question

Ok Guys. I received my TF-100 today and have been adding a half gallon of liquid chlorine daily. Here are my results. FC = 12 CC = .5 TA = 110 PH = 7.6 CYA = 25-30 The pool clarity was getting better. Today there was a lot of algae in the bottom of the pool (dead I assume). I vacuumed and now...

    Quick Total Alkalinity Question

Thanks for you feedback. I am working on getting a new test kit. Although I don't want to wait for delivery. Would this test kit be something my local pool store would stock?

    Quick Total Alkalinity Question

I'm using a pentair 78HR test kit. It's only a 4 in 1. (Chlorine, PH, Acid Demand and Alkalinity.) I need to get a FAS-DPD test kit and a CYA test kit. So I really don't know my FC, CC and CYA numbers. As of right now my PH is at 7.6 or so. I have been pouring about 1/2 gallon of liquid...

    Quick Total Alkalinity Question

Last year I brought a water sample into the local pool store to have it tested. My water was a bit cloudy. My alkalinity came back at 70 ppm. They recommended that my TA be at 160 ppm. This seems odd considering TFP recommends TA levels for my pool to be between 60 and 80 ppm. Is their a good...

Yeah. I calculated about 60 feel of head with the new heater. The chart for the pump shows about 40 gpm @ 60 ft. I think that's plenty with only 13,500 gallon pool. 🤔

Thanks for your support ajw22. I pulled that CV and noticed it was completely blocked up with maple tree seeds. I will be getting a Jandy very soon. The pump is running like a champ.

Help Priming Pump at Opening - Pump Far Away and Higher

Sorry for hijacking your thread. But, have you replaced the check valve? If so what was the result? I am having a similar problem.

I fixed the leak and did another pressure test. It held pressure for 45 minutes and did not budge. I am certain I don't have a leak. But still no luck with getting it to prime. I have a pentair spring loaded check valve about 16" from the pump head (see attached photo). Could that be causing the...

Ok. So I built a pressure test stick today and performed a pressure test on the suction side. I let it sit for 15 minutes. And saw drop of 1 psi. I found the connection just below my skimmer with a very slow leak. Is this enough to cause the issue?

Thank you for the welcome and the reply. I only have 1 suction line for my skimmer. So it is easily isolated. Is it safe to assume I would pressure test with water? I pressure tested the lines with air before I buried them and opened the pool. Would a leak on the output side cause priming issues?

I'm am new to owning a pool. It is an above ground permanent pool. I recently moved my equipment close to my house as I am installing a Raypak 206a heater. Moving the equipment was cheaper than paying a plumber to run a gas line that far. It is about 45' away and up hill approximately 4'. At...
