Turning my home into a rental - need suggestions

Thank you for the replies. I did not know I had my notifications turned off so I didnt know someone actually responded to my thread! Adding an auto fill seems pretty complex as it requires an existing water feed line which I don't have. I have decided to hire a pool service to monitor the...

Turning my home into a rental - need suggestions

Hello fellow TFPers! It's been a while since I've posted, the TFP method has worked great for me the 6 years I've moved into my first home. With a growing family, it is now time to say good bye to this home. I'm going to rent the house out and have a few questions since I plan to continue to...

Pool still green and cloudy! HELP!

As others mentioned, having a proper test kit is key! I keep the pump running as long as you're shocking and definitely while you're adding stabilizer - try not to backwash otherwise the stabilizer might be wasted and you'll need to test more. So clean /backwash before you start the shocking...

    Question about opening pool

Gotcha, so basically the higher the CYA the less effective chlorine becomes (thus needing more of it to shock). I feel relieved cuz I was really worried about damaging the equipment after dumping so much chlorine in there. BTW, thanks Rob for the quick and patient response!

    Question about opening pool

Thanks guys, I'll test again ASAP when I get home to see where things stand. So it sounds like given my CYA, maintaining a 30 ppm FC is safe for my equipment then?

    Question about opening pool

You're right, I should take a reading and maintain that shock level...I was just very reluctant to dump so much bleach in because I didn't want it to potentially damage my liner and equipment. My understanding is that if CC is <0.5 shocking isn't necessary so I figure at high FC levels (but...

    Question about opening pool

Hi fellow TFPers! The pool was covered and in good shape all winter. I cleaned it up a few weeks ago and then covered it up with the solar cover. Water was clear and good then. It got hot a few days but the temperature dropped back down to the 60s, I neglected to keep up with the chemicals so...

    Liner Replacement Question

I replaced my liner last year because it was leaking. I did not care how low the water level was because the liner was going to be replaced. I think it isn't "safe" to lower the water level for liner pools because if its not underwater it gets hit by the sun and can stretch or damage the liner...

Deciding on whether the liquidator would fit in my system

Thanks Bama! Do you know what I can use to clean the glue up prior to drilling? Can I use goo gone?

Deciding on whether the liquidator would fit in my system

Hello fellow TFPers  , I've been on the fence for some time now on whether or not I should get the liquidator. I don't mind adding chlorine everyday or two manually, but would like to not worry about the pool when gone for vacation. I'm also not sure if the liquidator is more trouble...

    leak around pipe

Thank you. It makes sense to remove the tape to see what's underneath and determine what needs to be replaced. I was hoping it would be somewhat of an "easy" fix. I have never worked with PVC so this also sounds a bit way over my head. I might have the local pool store quote me on a repair or...

    leak around pipe

politely bumping... For the pump basket, I picked up a tube of Jack's 327 lube for the O ring. I shall see how that works out. But I would still like to know how I should go about tackling the leak around the pipe thread connection...

    leak around pipe

I'm guessing its pipe? I didn't want to remove the tape in case it would make the matter worse. Also - how often should I be lubing the O ring in the pump basket cover? What kind of lube do I use? Thanks.

    leak around pipe

Hello, I am losing about 3/8 inch daily with pump running 4 hours/day. I had to replace the liner due to liner leaks so I really have no clue how much water evap is "normal", but I just got the liner replaced like 2 weeks ago so I am doubtful that is the problem. I had tried the bucket test...
