    Water Guru Sense 2

I bought the sense 2 9/28/23 only PH and FC seem accurate. CYA, CH are way off. They basically admitted they had an issue with the readings. My last reading was 1/16/23. I tried changing the batteries and no lights, no bluetooth, no wifi. I bought it to stop using tabs when I travel to...

is Variable Speed Pump worth the change

A warning for California pool owners. My variable speed pump became unsafe to operate with broken off bolts on electrical covers. The lowest setting on the new california approved pump is almost twice as high as I operated my old variable speed motor with a vacuum cleaner attached. I still have...

    low Calcium

algae was before pool dump. Taylor and Leslies results agree. Mine is more rounded cya of 40 vs 43, FC of 4vs 4.3. I used leslies rather than switching screens back and forth to get my readings from my Excel file that I have set up to not only log readings but to convert to # of measuring cups...

    low Calcium

I am not used to having low calcium right now FC 4.1, PH7.6, TA131, CH216, CYA43,csi -.04 temp guess of 70, new thermometer being shipped. Our area normally has tap water calcium in the high level to start out. Do I need to add more Calcium or is it alright with my csi. 15Kgal plaster pool and...

    Chlorine level varies greatly

I will check the Stenner. I think there is a dozing issue that I start chasing. I had it set for 2.5 hours and dropped from 7 to 5 over 2 days while gone. Then I was gone for 3 days and had it go from 4.5 to 2. Then I jumped from 2 to 9.5 after 90 oz of chlorine. If I keep my run time between...

    Chlorine level varies greatly

18141 on the cases bought yesterday. I am about 20 miles from the HDX plant that produces it and about 1 in 3 or 4 homes in the area have a pool so maybe that is why this area is fresh HDX.

    Chlorine level varies greatly

The overnight chlorine test would be hard to do except for a night that it is high. I run the pump at midnight just to make the timer setup easy. if I need 3 hours then 3AM turn off. Even if I change to 7PM when the sun is almost off of the pool if it has crashed it could take 8 hours to pump it...

    Chlorine level varies greatly

The last HDX was still in the shrink wrap. My concern has been it degrading in the tank 91F today.

    Chlorine level varies greatly

FC6,ph7.4, TA 80 CH550 CYA 20. City water CH is 220. I will add stabilizer in the morning. It has been hotter than normal last 2 weeks by about 5 degrees. Last added CYA 2 months ago. I only have Chlorine in the Stenner tank. I have read another system where they say to add water so the salt...

    Chlorine level varies greatly

I just over a month ago added a 7.5 gallon tank and Stenner 3gpd pump. I have changed from Clorox to HDX Chlorine after Sam's Club ran out. My chlorine level keeps bouncing day to day. Over the last week 5.5, 2.5,4.5,4,4.5,4.5,0,9 all taken just before dark. I changed poolmath from 6% to 10%. I...

    When to add chlorine.

Should I put a cover over the grey 7.5 gallon chemical tank? Using Clorox if that makes a difference. I went with Grey instead of translucence for better UV protection. Santa Ana has been mid 70's but can hit 100 for a week at a time. I am sure the Grey will heat up more. I saw something on...

    When to add chlorine.

I did not think it made much of a difference. I used to pump after 10PM when I was on TOU-B as my cheap power was 10pm to 8am. I went Solar and changed to TOU-T which shifted my Peak to Noon to 6PM (otherwise it was 2pm to 8pm which does not give full savings from the solar). I had moved my pump...

    When to add chlorine.

I have just put in the Chlorine Stenner yesterday. I noticed that the grey 7.5 gallon tank and UV tubing says that it is certified for Chlorine only. I have considered adding an acid pump to get rid of the cloud when I do add acid but that had me questioning it. I have been using 30 or 43 oz of...

    When to add chlorine.

I just put in a stenner pump 3gpd to keep chlorine levels up when I am out of town. It is on a timer. What is the best time of day to add, the evening so it has all night or in the morning so levels stay more constant? I am on time of use so I avoid 12 noon to 6pm pump runs. Also is there any...

Calcium hardness to high after a year

Headed to work so last chance for overnight and it is still at 16 with cc of .2. The water has always been clear. Before I started using TFP I always was fighting the algae in corners and on south walls. I do not know if maintaining FC at 5 helped or the Borax. I travel frequently and nobody...
