My Old Intex vs New Polygroup Pro Pool

I have to ask, is the liner noticably better than the standard Intex you replaced this with? I am at year 3 with my 14' Ultra set up her just outside of Oklahoma City. I keep mine covered unless it is being used so I don't have to clean much. Bob

    intex adjustable pool inlet nozzle

That 3/4 should do just fine and the 1 inch one also interchanges in the same threaded hole. So if you don't like the flow with the 3/4, then have the 1 inch standing by. You should be able to find all this stuff at your local Leslies store, pool store, or if you can wait, Amazon. Now, may I...

    Hard Foam Insullation

I would tell you duct tape is duct tape particularly when you will have a ton or so of water on top of it.....not much of any possibility of movement there. I agree with the pad not needed. Perhaps if you are going to continue to take the pool down every season it would help keep the foam...

    AGP Heater Recommendations

I am probably the only one here stupid enough to keep a heated 14' Intex pool going year round.....and with electric heat at that!! The way it was/is feasible for me was to put 1 inch of the blue foam insulation around the sides and "float" 1 inch of the blue stuff on the top when the pool...

Intex 14' Ultra Frame Equipment SWG Upgrade and Passive Heating

I had the SWG Intex thing for a couple of years and honestly, you will still need to test and add bleach anyway to fine tune levels based on sun and usage. If you haven't bought the SWG, may I recommend you not buy it, just get some bleach and go with that. Since I have gone strictly BBB, I have...

Started work on my 24" AGP...

Either way will work. I used a long piece of aluminum angle and a nice level and got within a half inch side to side, but probably the water level will be more accurate.....perhaps get it in the ball park with the 2x4 then final check with the water level? Bob E.

First time posting. Getting ready to open.

Shaffe43, if you haven't yet, get a notebook to record your test results. I not only record test results but also exactly what I put into the pool to correct the results. Might I suggest you do the same. I had alot of zero CYA results too particularly this year (first year I left the pool up...

In the market for a new AG pool. What should I look for?

My two cents is if you have the money, it's a great plan to have the place for the pool leveled (don't forget about getting electricity for the pool and deck stuff too) and have family help for install. Some place here in the under construction forum someone got a pool mailed to them from (I...

First time pool owner looking for a strategy.

Is there a possibility that your wife could be trained to pour XX amount of bleach in everyday? If so, you could save alot of money and she would have ownership in the pool. Specifically, I will come clean.......get a Taylor Speed Stir, show her how easy it is to test chlorine levels, have a...

    Pavers vs Stamped Concrete?

I would much rather have poured and stamped concrete any day. Options are limited only by person finishing the concrete. It is amazing what they can do these days. However, let's get real......cost.......I have a concrete products plant withing 20 minutes of my house. They offer all the...

This DIYer thanks you for the motivation and information on doing yours. Now at least I can point to this to the wife and go, see.....somebody else wants to do this stuff too!! Great job. Bob E.

Heating pool with wood burning stove, solar blanket question

Re: Heating pool with wood burning stove, solar blanket ques I keep my Intex heated throughout the winter, but I have an inch of the blue insulation all around the sides. I promise you if you touch your sides and they are warm, then you have significant heat loss out the sides. Figure out some...

bestway flowclear 2500 gal filter pump

I will add my two cents to this discussion. If you know you are going to keep an above ground pool for the next 5 years or more, I would suggest getting a real Hayward (or similar) pool pump. A 3/4 hp should and will be fine. Number two, if you want to keep with carts, then look at one of the...

My Side Wall Repair - Brand New Intex Ulta Frame (with Pics)

Re: My Side Wall Repair - Brand New Intex Ulta Frame (with P May I ask what kind of cement/glue you used to put the on with? I have been on pins and needles for the past 6 months wondering about patching my Intex pool if it gets a leak. Bob E.
