Ambient lighting for backyard around pool area

I have low voltage lighting run all over my back yard. It runs off of a timed controller that is just plugged into an outlet behind the grill. No electrician needed, you simply run a large spool of wire (looks like speaker cable) where ever you need lights and then each light snaps onto the...

Clear "green" water - Am I doing enough?

I would use bleach as the cal-hypo is going to keep making your calcium levels rise. You can get regular 8.25% bleach at home depot or even your local grocery store. Keep the FC above 12 and don't let it drop below that until you fully pass the SLAM.

Clear "green" water - Am I doing enough?

If you are still losing 7 FC at night, you still have a ways to go. That pool doesn't look very clear yet. Make sure you are brushing like crazy and cleaning/backwashing your filter when the pressure rises too. Is there any reason you are using Cal-hypo and not just bleach? Watch your CH...

    FC/pH Relationship

Yes, FC over 10ppm gives false high readings for pH.

    Replacing gaskets in Hayward multivalve?

I bought a gasket set for mine a while back and it still ended up leaking. So I just bought the whole top assembly instead (It was maybe $50-$70 from amazon). It came with all the gaskets already in. Unscrewed the old one, screwed the new one on, good as new. Glad I did it because the old...

So I guess I won’t be saving 15% or more on my car insurance....

HAH, correct, they party hard and then exit. Since it it too cold for us to swim right now, I am making sure the pool is nice and balanced for them.

You need to get a Frog Log. No critters in my skimmers ever since getting one.

Polaris 280 - Replace or Repair?

They are so easy to repair, it won't cost you a lot to do it. Mine is 10 years old and I have just about replaced everything on it and it runs like new. Unless you want to spend money on a robot or something (which is a big upgrade - they are really nice) there is no reason not to repair it.

    TA, CYA, and pH struggle

Leave it alone and let the pH rise to above 7.8 until you add acid. If you are in Central TX like me, your fill water will make the TA rise anyways. Test your fill waters TA. I think if you are anywhere between -0.3 - 0 you will be fine. It is preferred to be in the negative range for a salt...

    TA, CYA, and pH struggle

If those numbers are accurate you should let your pH rise until it settles. No reason to keep it at 7.4-7.6 if it likes to stay at 7.8, which is where most SWG pools like to settle. With a TA at 50 your pH rise will likely slow as it gets higher but it will be nearly impossible to keep at 7.4...

    PVC fountain in Polaris port

I just made one of these myself and it actually cooled the pool 3-4 degrees. You have to make sure you get the stream shooting up and out enough. As far as the Polaris port. I have never had that problem. Try turning the pump off before removing, it makes it easier.

Multiport valve seal leaking. I've replaced it 6 times over the last 2 years.

It's not normal for the multi-port to be leaking. Mine leaked after I changed gaskets as well. I ended up buying the entire top assembly and it fixed it. Maybe it was warped? However, are you putting any lube on the o-ring?

    I made a pool logger

Yes, all calculations take borates into account.
