    Hayward Tristar 2- speed pump

Hi, I built my pool 5 years ago and got the Hayward Tristar 2-speed pump for it. The pump was supposed to be 110/220 according to the dealer, like my previous super pump. When we went to wire it in, there was no option for 110. In order to get it running, I just used my old super pump and...

Solid Winter Cover Automatic Pump question

I just finished installing the Deck Lock Aquamaster solid winter cover. It went pretty well, but my Hammer drill was underpowered. Had to rent a better one. My question is about a cover pump. I live in Northwest Ohio and we get a ton of snow. Is it okay to keep an automatic cover pump on...

    Pump sucking air

Well, after replacing this mess, things are running at 85%. His pump is a Leslies Hydramax II. The basket lid is circular and curved like a dome. We got a new lid which did not change anything. I see air circulating in the dome. Pretty sure this is still not right. My superpump has no air...

    Pump sucking air

Would you all agree, that if water is not leaking from the pool, the skimmer line is probably intact?

    Pump sucking air

Good Morning. Trying to help my neighbor out. His pump is sucking air from someplace. I would assume leak in skimmer line. The pool is not losing water. The company that opened the pool said they pressure tested the line and it passed. I would assume you would see a little spray of water...

Worried about pool light with snow here

Wouldn't the antifreeze just go directly into the pool water without plugging the hole where the wire exits the niche?

Worried about pool light with snow here

Here are some pictures. The first is of the light. It is 3 1/2 feet of water. I took the level of the pool down 4 inches below skimmer. The actual pool water will freeze at the level of the light, I assume. That means water in the niche also. Maybe this isn't a big deal, but if it cracks...

Worried about pool light with snow here

I wanted to put some jb weld/potting compound over the hole in the niche where the wire exits. It got to cold and didn't get it done. that way antifreeze could be dumped in the conduit. Read of some doing it. But I'm wondering how far down the water freezes in the actual pool as now the light...
