Swimming Pool Leak -and- Light Replacement

This is an inground pool, no vinyl liner... If there was a vinyl liner, I'd just replace it - I imagine that'd only be a few hundred.

Swimming Pool Leak -and- Light Replacement

That's what I was afraid of. Are there any self-contained battery operated remote control LED lights that might work so we don't have to bust up the concrete yet? We have a lot of micro-fracture cracks, so we were looking for some sort of sealant that we might be able to spray coat the pool...

Swimming Pool Leak -and- Light Replacement

We recently purchased this house and this spring drained the pool to find out why we are losing so much water over the season (we typically lose about 1-2 inches of water per day). We noticed that there are some small cracks in the bottom of the pool and that some of the surface of the pool had...

Help plumbing Pentair FNS+ 48 filter... (Sightglass???)

Yeah, I gathered that.. I just thought my solution worked better. ;) Now I have options... I like options.. It's easy to pull and clean, replace, get rid of, etc.

Help plumbing Pentair FNS+ 48 filter... (Sightglass???)

Here is a pic of what I ended up with (all new pipes except for the ones in/out of the heater)... Hopefully this will work well.. ;) The sightglass simply unscrews and I can put a cap in there, or clean/replace it easily.

Help plumbing Pentair FNS+ 48 filter... (Sightglass???)

Not sure how its going to work yet, I still have about 1 foot of pipe left to plumb (from pipe to filter), but what I did is put a 2" cap on the smooth end, got a 2" female thread to pipe adapter for the other end, and then glued that into a T in the waste line so I can unscrew the sightglass...

Help plumbing Pentair FNS+ 48 filter... (Sightglass???)

So carlscan26 is correct, somehow I need to find a way to plumb that into my waste line? Should I use a T and a screw-on cap?

Help plumbing Pentair FNS+ 48 filter... (Sightglass???)

For example, this is what I expected... And this is what I received... Am I missing something?

Help plumbing Pentair FNS+ 48 filter... (Sightglass???)

I just received my new Pentair FNS+ 48 D.E. filter in the mail, along with the high-flow MPV and a 'sightglass kit'. Problem is, this "sightglass" is basically a clear piece of plastic that has threads on one end, and a big hole at the other. I'm sure you veterans know exactly what I'm talking...

Help purchasing new pool filter for inground

Doesn't the Quad use cartridges though? Don't they need to be replaced more often than the normal grids? I wish there was some good comparisons between the different D.E. filters...

Help purchasing new pool filter for inground

I've told the story on here before, so this will be short. ~35,000 gallon in-ground pool (sort of kidney shaped) Currently have a 1HP pump going to a very old D.E. filter that has been converted to a sand filter somehow. 1.5" plumbing from a single pool skimmer 1.5" plumbing to 4-6 returns...

In-ground swimming pool + roll of insulation = PROBLEM??

So I guess the question is, do I go with the Hayward DE7220 or the Pentair FNS+ 60? 8^)

In-ground swimming pool + roll of insulation = PROBLEM??

I read somewhere that you should size your filter to your pump and your pump to your pipe size. 1.5" pipes have a limit of around 45 GPM? From what I understand, if your filter is too big for your pump/pipes you can't backwash properly and if your filter is too small you won't filter...

In-ground swimming pool + roll of insulation = PROBLEM??

So after some more research (trying to figure out why my pool water is STILL cloudy after running the pump for 2 weeks x 24/7 straight, I find out that whomever owned the filter before me had converted it into a sand filter. I guess the filter I have is by some company that doesn't exist any...
