but, I'm basing my adding chlorine on your calculator and I'm using 6280 as my gallons...when I used your calculator to figure how much CYA to add, from 0, and I wanted to go to 30, it told me 1.75 pounds and it was dead on, using 6280... so, that's why I'm confused.

using your calculator, using the round which ignores length, I have an 18ft Intex pool round and I have it filled to almost 48in, and it tells me it's 7600 gallons, but on the box it says it's 6280.

with a CYA of 50 you need to maintain a FC of 15 until it holds over night... why aren't you using bleach?

I guess that's why I always use 2 scoops cause I'm always running at around 8ppm with a CYA of 35

I use the Taylor FAS/DPD kit, and I always use 2 level scoops of the power.

it could take up to a week at shocking levels (but most times sooner) to get rid of it.... I assume the pump is the problem why it's not cleaning up faster. But your doing everything you should be doing.
