Hmmmmm...well now I'm really perplexed. Does rain have acid in it that would make the TA go down or the only way TA drops is from some sort of chemical? I consistently chlorinate w/liquid and only occasionally use tabs. Even when I'm not using chlorine tabs, my TA stays at 40.

Lower TA? I was under the impression that my TA was too low at 40ppm? Are you saying it's too high?
