Question concerning pool and new roof installation

Hmmm..so thus, the dilemma. Will they be more careful if left uncovered, thereby making it less likely junk will fall in (However, stuff could still make its way in now matter how careful they are, of course) and if we cover, will they possibly be less careful and stuff will be all over the...

Question concerning pool and new roof installation

Thanks for sharing your experiences with me. It’s very helpful to have this info before this roofing project gets started. Our pool is very close to the house.

Question concerning pool and new roof installation

Has anyone had a roof torn off and replaced while pool is open? We are about to have a total tear off and new roof applied next week, and are concerned about the pool. Should we apply loop loc cover during this, or just keep open? We are concerned about old roofing materials getting into pool.

Let’s see your water after removing winter cover!! **RESURRECTED FOR 2025!**

Opening Day! My pool guy was impressed how my pool looked. He said most of his pools do not look like mine. The only thing I do at closing is clean it well with my Dolphin, get my chlorine up to shock level and try my best to prevent anything organic from getting in prior to them putting the...

You won't need it if you follow the guidelines on this website. Your water will be clear and sparkling without all of the pool store chemicals.

    CYA test

I usually hang my over a return, and give it a squeeze every once in awhile to help disburse it. Works well for me.

    CYA Granules?

I usually put mine in front of a return and give it a squeeze several times as I go by and it usually dissolves fairly quickly that way.

Water still good after 2 years, but should I drain/fill just based on time?

Indeed I am an RN:-) Always glad to meet a fellow nurse as well:-):-) I have never used bromine, but when I refilled my tub for the first time (I've had mine less than a year, ready to drain and refill again when I get a new filter) I also had issues with very high PH and TA, and had to keep...

    Opened pool, CYA has gone

My CYA was gone when we opened this year as well. Cleaned pool well and added chlorine to shock level just prior to closing, also.

Water still good after 2 years, but should I drain/fill just based on time?

I live in the Northeast, so refill in May and October to avoid refilling in freezing temps. Use just bleach (and PH down when needed) most of the time.Have added borates as well. Everything I have read says to change water at least 2-3 times/year.
