    Above Ground Pool Closing

Hello. I am reading the below article and it says to "Clean and brush pool. Bring pool water to “shock” level and maintained there for 24hrs with pump running to be sure that there are no remaining algae blooms." What does it actually mean to bring pool water to shock level? Is that the same...

New Liner Before Year End Closing

I decided to just fill it all the way and test water to make sure everything is working. But are you saying that a closing kit is not necessary - as long as my water is balanced I am good? I have no clue what is in the kit to be honest. Have not opened it yet. Thanks

New Liner Before Year End Closing

Thanks. I am not concerned with any leaking as its a brand new liner, but had not thought of the possiblity. Anyway, I have not tested water yet. I do have one of those year end kits, but I was questioning if I needed to go through that process since I just filled from my hose.

New Liner Before Year End Closing

Hello. I just had a new liner put in my 24' foot above ground pool after many years of leaks. In any event, my question is if I need to refill the pool all the way and add chemicals etc and then go thorugh a normal year end closing.....or is there anyway to short-cut so I don't need to fill my...

Sand in Pool after replacing laterals

I just replaced the old later and standpipe. I think there was a small crack in it, but not 100% sure. Anyway, I took out all the old sand, cleaned out the filter, filled it about a foot with clean water, put the standpipe back in, and put in the sand I had taken out. The sand that I was putting...

Sand in the Pool after replacing sand

Thank you. I’m hoping replacing the laterals and center pipe will do the trick.

Sand in the Pool after replacing sand

Thank you. About how much water? Also, I can’t see the sand coming out of the return. Is it just not able to be seen by the naked eye …., of a 54 year old - lol?

Sand in the Pool after replacing sand

Good morning. I have a good amount of small sand piles throughout my pool after running the filter. Full disclosure, I had small amounts of sand in my pool a few weeks ago and removed all the sand and inspected the laterals. They all looked good, but the bottom of the standpipe appeared to have...

Pool Opening - Green Water - CYA Below 20

I just tested my FC level for my OCLT as part of the SLAM I am in the middle of. My FC was16 vs. SLAM Target of 24 for my %) CYA Level. Should I put in 115 oz. of bleach now as my Pool Math says or no? I just questioned adding it now because I don't want to mess up the OCLT. I added 1 gallon...

Pool Opening - Green Water - CYA Below 20

quick question. Why do I add 5ppm liquid chlorine before I start to SLAM? I read the SLAM and did not see that step. I am very literal and even though I have had my pool for quite a few years, every April/May I feel like I am starting from scratch with my knowledge and opening routine. That...

Pool Opening - Green Water - CYA Below 20

Pool Opening - Green Water - CYA Below 20

Sorry. What would 5ppm calculate to on 14k gallon pool? Or do I put a Target Free chlorine of 5 in the Pool Math app without the SLAM button on to determine how much liquid chlorine to add?
