Tree Removal Prior to Pool Build

Typically the more tree you can leave the more leverage they have and the smaller the equipment needs to be to remove the stump. Of course your equipment needs to be big enough to handle the removed stump as well. You should have a contractor lined up to pull and remove the stumps before they...

Partial inground Latham Rockwood oval pool - ground water question

This is the correct idea. However you need a lower area that will accept and drain the outflow from the pipe. Your soils compostion has a lot to do with obtaining proper drainage and weight bearing as well. I would advise getting some local advice with these issues, then post back here if you...

False or Faux Negative Edge/Infinity Pool - does anyone have photos?

These would be the reason I I would be leaning towards the glass slats. Even when the glass does get dirty at least you will still have a clearish view. In addition the Glass panes look very difficult to clean the ocean side. How to you clean down to the bottom? Unless you leave a dangerous...

Replacement for the wall whale brush...

If I remember correctly I used the new brushes hole layout and drilled out the Whale Tail with new longer screws. I can check when I get home in a few days....

Replacement for the wall whale brush...

The pool company that installed my pool left a good quality brush that I never used because I had bought a wall whale. My whale brush broke in the same spot as yours so I just screwed the whale tail to the other brush. It fit perfectly.

This decking drainage isn't acceptable right?

Definitely did not get the "A" team on that one. Looks more like the "D" team. Sloppy uncaring (or inexperienced ) work. Trench drains would have a much better (more expensive) option. From the pics it appears the drain is set plenty low enough, they just did not take the time to get the pitch...

    Sump Pit

Yes they are... Not at all.. I personally would set up a "float pole" with that recommended sensor. Just fill a 1.5 or 2" pvc pipe with sand or concrete and attach the floats to that so you can easily take out the pole and adjust them without pulling the pump. Then try to find a level...

    IG Vinyl Build: It's Happening!

The lay out and cuts can be a bit of an art in itself. I personally would let them know to put as many as they feel are necessary. Some times they will be reluctant to put to many in as most folks do not like to see them. I would much rather look at more cuts as apposed to cracks....Just My...

Getting ready to close pool for first time after refinishing with new DiamondBrite

This is always a though question for the Northern pools. My original regular (no aggregate ) medium grey plaster had issues from the very start and I am convinced something went wrong with the install. The first winter I did not have any spalling issues. The pool company drained the water below...
