    Taylor Kit K2006c expired

So I have this Taylor kit for my vinyl above ground pool, and its served me well with great accuracy, but the reagents are expired x 1 year or longer. Should I just purchase a replacement kit, or the refill kit? Or is there a different kit I should be considering?

    Need a better vacuum

I have a fairly decent sand filter and pump, its not the stock pump/filter that came with the pool. I'll look into the Pool Blaster, but thats likely on the expensive side. I might have to bite the bullet and install the skimmer sooner than later (water is cold). I think the start up of the...

    Need a better vacuum

I've searched around and found some old posts, I just got an adapter for a brush vacuum, but after about 2 minutes of vacuuming, I lose suction and have to backwash the filter again. Its fairly annoying. I have a skimmer I need to install, but I have two intakes, but are fairly low on the side...

    Need a better vacuum

We have an 18" coleman metal frame pool with an Intex sand filter. We do not have a skimmer, but would be willing to install one. Two intake valves and one outlet. We are looking for a better way to vacuum the fine debris off the bottom of the pool. I have a stand alone pump that came with...

    Need new above ground advice

We have a 15’ intex pool that has about fallen apart. We have upgraded the filter system and need to get a new pool, but don’t need one with a filter. It doesn’t have to be intex, but should be reasonable. Any advice?

New Intex Sand Filter and SWG

Hi all, i just received my new Intex sand filter and am looking for some guidance. The pool we have is an Intex 14' Metal Frame pool that came with a tiny, way underpowered filter that provided us with a great deal of grief last season. So, we took the plunge and upgraded to a sane filter...

    Green Algae, HELP!

I just found out the truth, my mother-in-law has been mismanaging the pool. She bought a cheap tester kit from Amazon that only measures pH, FC (to 5), and acid/base demand. I ordered a Taylor K-2006 Kit and am awaiting delivery. The pool store last measured our CYA at 116. She let the...

Yes, I didn't participate in the selection of the crappy kit. The new one was recommended here! It's a Taylor. Mike, RN

    Green Algae, HELP!

We didn't add it yet... Our current test kit goes to 5 ppm of FC, it was measured as a 7.7 on a better kit. My kit is coming to allow me to measure up tom10 ppm. I'm SLAMming with enough shock to treat 4 times the size of our pool due to the high CYA levels. We are draining it 50% and gonna...

    Green Algae, HELP!

I've slammed 5 days in a row. It's still green and a film is forming on top now when I skim. Mike

    Green Algae, HELP!

We have a 14' x 48" Intex round pool. We set it up this year for the very first time, we ended up getting an Algae bloom after our FC dropped to nil. To add insult to injury, someone added double the recommended CYA stabilizer. We have shocked 5 days in a row and performed a 25% water change...
