    Rattling in Hayward SP3200VSP pump

There was just a little air in the pump basket, pretty much the same as it always is. This didn't sound at all like air, definitely like a physical object rattling around, but it did stop so.......not something that I've ever noticed before and I've had times when there was more air in the pump...

    Rattling in Hayward SP3200VSP pump

Noticed this morning that there was a rattling sound coming from my pump when it started up. It quit rattling pretty quickly and is running fine - full of water, correct pressure, etc. I've reached out to the pool company that did the installation (Completed in Dec 2015), I'm not sure if the...

    Leak at skimmer

Sure, that would have been helpful I suppose. Anyway, I looked at some caulk wasn't loving it, ended up using some putty from local pool store. Worked without a hitch and the leak is fixed. Still curious though what people generally use...don't think a picture is super relevant (and don't...

    Leak at skimmer

...or would putty be better? It's the vertical seam between the skimmer and the pool tile on one side, looks like most of the grout has just fallen away.... specific product recommendations are appreciated. Thanks!

    Leak at skimmer

Hi, thanks to all previous posters on leak detecting, etc. I've found a leak at my skimmer - should have been obvious except I've never had a pool before, anyway - found it, most of the grout is missing at a joint of the skimmer and the pool. Pool is about 2 years old. Anyway - curious what's...

    Bubbles from jet

Hi, getting some slight bubbling from my first jet. It's not a lot but doesn't seem to clear out. Is that pointing to a problem somewhere? Thanks, Ray

    Checking levels

Hi, you guys got me going w/ some initial issues and understanding the basics. You guys were getting me to a balanced state on PH and CL and I've got a good handle on that, testing/adjusting daily things are ok on that front I believe. So now I wanted to see if there were any other long term...

Newbie needs some help - CYA test isn't cloudy - chlorine test seems to show nil

Thanks Matt, I haven't measured my fill water, can do that tonight as I will probably need to add a bit by this weekend. I don't have any sources for aeration. Also it's a new pool, don't know if that has anything to do with any advice - completed just before Christmas.

Newbie needs some help - CYA test isn't cloudy - chlorine test seems to show nil

I added 2 lbs of baking soda last night (about half of what was recommended targeting TA of 100) and my TA went from 40 up to 70, that's good. My Ph hopped up from 7.4 to 8.0 - seemed like a bigger jump than I was expecting - although my expectations don't come from much experience ;) So I...

Newbie needs some help - CYA test isn't cloudy - chlorine test seems to show nil

OK, checked the CYA values after a week and here's where I am: FC - 2.4 CC - 0 CYA - 50 PH - 7.4 TA - 40 CH - 340 So all in all I feel pretty good about things and am much more comfortable with the tests/etc after having done them all week. I see my TA, PH and FC are a little low - Will add...
