Pool shop mocks my little pool and the TFP method

'In reply to joyfulnoise post' Spot on! I still haven't located a proper test kit here within Thailand but have read of taylor k-2006 kit asking over $500 US! Borax is unavailable and pool chlorine from some shops appears cheaper than supermarket household bleach. But I'll get it all figured...

Pool shop mocks my little pool and the TFP method

Haha. He actually stated all one has to do with a little play pool is drain and refill once a month. We were actually planning on going chemical free and draining once a week. After the second day I slipped when I stepped off the ladder onto the pools slimy bottom and the third day the water...

Pool shop mocks my little pool and the TFP method

That's what i thought. First off he had a chance to welcome a new customer for a lifetime of sales and at least try to redirect my attention to a different test kit. Instead he says, "Taylor who?...Taylor what?......Just because some kit is available in America do not assume it is used elsewhere...

Pool shop mocks my little pool and the TFP method

I spoke with an Englishman rep for the largest online pool store in SE Asia yesterday. I figured this would be my best bet at finding a proper test kit here in Thailand. Not only did he mock my little toy swimming pool but insisted with his 40 years experience with pools, throughout the world...

TFP ideal fc level vs test kit ideal fc level

My saku ph &cl test kit model dv-3025 shows the ideal CL level (i am assuming they mean FC level) to be in the 0.6 - 1.5 range. Yet this forum says my FC level should start at minimum of 2 with a target of 3 given my low CYA level. Mother in law thinks I'm trying to poison her grandkids. As...

    FAS/DPD test kit THAILAND

Anyone living in Thailand that knows how to aquire a proper test kit please enlighten me. Recently made an impulse pool purchase and had no idea that there was so much to maintaining one. It smells as though i have to shock the pool but do not have a fas/dpd test kit (nor am able to test CC). So...

    Expat in Thailand....Help!

Thanks for the replies and the welcome. From what I've been reading there are issues with the kit not making it through customs when ordered from abroad. GDL pool shop only stocks the same basic test kit all the shops here have. The Taylor K-2006 or TFT TF-100 is what im looking for. Finding...

    Expat in Thailand....Help!

Hello All, Have been doing a bunch of reading on this site and am happy that stumbled upon it. Lots of great advice that I want to put to use but finding a proper test kit able to test FAS/DPD chlorine is proving to be quite a challenge. Surely someone has figured this out already and could...
