Replaced a Pentair IC40 and Barely Getting any Chlorine

Standard lights...nothing different. I don't remember what the usage lights said but it wasn't to 80% yet because there were no blinking lights. Just stopped producing chlorine so I acid cleaned it and it made some bubbles for a day then nothing. Nothing after than made any difference. I still...

Replaced a Pentair IC40 and Barely Getting any Chlorine

I think I see a OCLT in my future. As to what failed...it just quit producing chlorine. It was 4-5 years old but I did acid clean it every so often. Suddenly it just stopped producing any chlorine in August (no more little bubbles either). At that point I cleaned it again and started using...

Replaced a Pentair IC40 and Barely Getting any Chlorine

I have a smaller pool (15-16k gal) with an Easy Touch system using a IC40 Salt Chlorine Generator Cell that failed after 4-5 years. I was told I could just order another and (after making sure the power was off to the system) replace the unit, which I have done. With the old unit, I ran it at...

New Plaster (pebble)...Pay for start up or DYI? Bring in H20 or not?

Thanks for the input. I already have my TF-100 waiting to get put to use. I know that I'm going to have to brush the pool no matter what so I'm ready for that. I think the well can handle the strain, I just didn't want to add the iron and calcium if I could avoid it (and thanks to Afton, I may...

New Plaster (pebble)...Pay for start up or DYI? Bring in H20 or not?

Getting new pebble finish installed next week and I've been told I can either do the start up myself or pay someone they recommend $500 to do it. It's a small pool (15000 gal) that is being converted to salt. We are on a well and I already know that we have high iron content (a gal of water in a...

    Doheny's Discovery, S200, Active20, Triton owners club

Well, I went ahead and pulled the trigger. Mine's on the way, review to follow but I don't foresee any problems since I'm replacing a Zodiac G3 suction cleaner. Fingers crossed. - - - Updated - - - One thing...if you are offering free shipping, then charging a 'handling fee' seems wrong. Isn't...

Lists of equipment 3 builders quoted us... would like opinions?

495 I live right up the road from you so I hope that you do a pool build for us. We already have a pool but it is up for a remodel...but so far the prices have been crazy.

Can someone please help me diagnose this?

402 No, but it is really hard these days to find a TECHNICIAN who can actually fix things. The easy solution is to just replace the defective component (in this case a pump). Lucky for me, there's a really good pump repair place nearby. They completely rebuilt an old AG pump that we have...

Solar Covers -worth it even with a warranty?

7520 It seems like whatever cover I get lasts only about 1 1/2 to 2 years max but it saves loosing a bunch of water (live in NorCal and we can have more than a few 100+ degree days). I used to have to refill 2+ inches a week. Now it's more like 3-4 inches a season. It does make the pool REALLY...

    IC 20 vs. IC 40?

That's kind of what I figured. It just seems crazy that it is an option. Thanks for the replies! 7513

    IC 20 vs. IC 40?

6788 I'm trying to piece together a replacement system to dispose of my OLLLLLLD Jandy equipment and am planning on using Pentair equipment. However, when it comes to SWGs they offer the IC20 (which is sized for my pool) and the IC40 (which I would think should hold more, last longer, and work...

    Water is bypassing cartridge filter

I'm by no means an expert, but from what you are saying it isn't a pump problem. If the water isn't getting filtered, then either the filter isn't seated properly (as stated by wjr75 above) or there is some other problem allowing the water to bypass the filter. It sounds like the little floaty...
