    Cracks in fiberglass pool

Interesting. How frequently are fiberglass pools typically resurfaced? We live in the Northeast. Thanks.

    Cracks in fiberglass pool

I just hopped in with some red food coloring and did not see any evidence that the cracks were sucking in the food coloring. These cracks are undetectable when running your fingertips over them but you can just catch it with your fingernail. Does this mean it's just the gelcoat that's cracked...

    Cracks in fiberglass pool

Hey guys, I just happened to notice 2 areas of cracking around the stair area of our fiberglass pool. 1 of them is about 10 inches long and the other is more of a spider crack with 4 separate branches about 10 inches long as well. Do these hairline cracks look like superficial cracks in the...

Raypak - High 2 limit fault - checked unitherm governor, now what?

I know exactly how you feel. I'm not about to replace the heater until necessary. Replacing the bypass assembly is ridiculously easy. The included instructions even tell you the proper tightening pattern and torque. Believe me, I'm an expert at breaking stuff and this I had no issue with. I...

Raypak - High 2 limit fault - checked unitherm governor, now what?

I did not. I suppose that's the last thing I could try but I figured it wasn't the case as it's obviously opening and closing. 1 thing I will say is that the unit displays the proper water temperature while not in operation but when heating it displays about 5 degrees higher than it should be...

Raypak - High 2 limit fault - checked unitherm governor, now what?

I replaced the unitherm Governor as well as the bypass assembly bit the problem still persists. It's not as bad as it was before replacing these parts but it still trips.

Any input on Lochinvar Pool Heaters?

Very valid concerns. I will stick with the Raypak. I'd really like to upgrade from my current r206a to an r266a but I have 80ft of 1in pipe which I do not believe is adequate.

Is a solar pool heater worth it without a solar cover?

I tried but it doesn't seem to work well with where I live (large open area with no windbreak).

Any input on Lochinvar Pool Heaters?

Hey guys, I'm looking at a Lochinvar EnergyRite ERN-252 pool heater. I noticed it's 88% efficient compared to my current Raypak which is 82% efficient so it caught my eye. Does anyone have any input on Lochinvar Pool heaters? I know they're a respected brand but it's pretty difficult to find...

Is a solar pool heater worth it without a solar cover?

Thanks for the input. Furthermore, I run my pump at 1800 rpm for most of the day. To accommodate a ground mounted solar system with 7 12x4 panels about 20ft from the pool would I have to run the pump at like 2400rpms?
