Considering a 24’x52” Intex, any special considerations or preparations at the beginning of this project if I want to leave the frame up year round?

I’ve had a 15’ frame long ago, modified for a skimmer and upgrade sand filter. But at our new house, we just went for a cheap $100 pool last year. But we’ve got one perfectly flat spot that will need fairly minimal prep. But I loathe the idea of taking a big frame pool down at the end of...

Pool recommendation: smallest with a decent filter?

I had a ~15’ round Intex maybe 10 years ago. Upgraded to a sand filter, cut in a wall flap trap, etc…. So I’m mediumly familar with smaller above ground pools. But it’s been a while :) We moved, and we’d like to consider a pool. I’ve got a decent spot that wouldn’t require a ton of prep...

Warming up the pool questions: adding a solar heater?

Thanks for the reply's. Going to pickup the solar heater this week. What will I need to connect the solar heater to my current system? I'm assuming it will go in-line after the pump and filter. This will be a short use item for us, so I'm not necessarily needing the most elaborate setup, but...

Warming up the pool questions: adding a solar heater?

Greetings! Last year we dove into an Intex ultra 14" as our first pool. We went more hardcore that we were planning, leveling the base, 2650 pump and in wall skimmer, but we LOVED it. I'm in western Oregon though, so our season is small, but we also have hard core cold water swimmers. This...

Taking the pool down for the first time: questions

I've read several posts, but I have a few remaining questions: I have a 14' ultra frame, with in wall skimmer and 2650 sand filter. I'm in Wet and mild Oregon, not worried about freezing. Should i remove the wall skimmer? Undo all the screws? Scrub -> drain -> dry -> storage? I'm...

Installing an in-wall skimmer tomorrow, questions about stoc

Re: Installing an in-wall skimmer tomorrow, questions about Done! Took less than an hour, could have done it much faster if I wasn't so stressed about cutting the liner! It's working great so far, much easier to vacuum now. I didn't reconnect the old skimmer, don't see much of a point...

How often to backwash Intex 2650?

Just got this pump, LOVING it, but I'm curious how often I should plan on back washing the filter? I'm installing an inwall skimmer tomorrow if that helps with your answer at all.

I need some Intex hard plumbing help.

I believe you'll need an adapter, as Intex uses non-standard threads. Search the web for "intex fitting standard".

Installing an in-wall skimmer tomorrow, questions about stoc

Re: Installing an in-wall skimmer tomorrow, questions about Gotcha. I had assumed the intex pipes would be standard. Booo! Looks like a trip to the Box is needed to make this work. Ill need another flexible tube for either the in-wall or intake skimmer, should I order an intex tube, or get...

Installing an in-wall skimmer tomorrow, questions about stoc

Re: Installing an in-wall skimmer tomorrow, questions about CeeElGee, what parts did you use to tie in the original inlet? I zoomed in one your picture, but I'm not sure what all I'd need to pickup. What's the issue with your vacuum and your skimmer?

Installing an in-wall skimmer tomorrow, questions about stoc

Re: Installing an in-wall skimmer tomorrow, questions about Got the new pump and new in-out-lets in. Cutting was easy, but cut too small on the first attempt, and had to awkward trim the excess, almost stabbing a hole in the wall! Didn't get to the Hayward skimmer tonight, a project for the...

Installing an in-wall skimmer tomorrow, questions about stoc

My 2650 intex sand filter and hayward skimmer are coming tomorrow. I'm reading up and ready for the install, except I'm a little confused on where the best location is to install the skimmer? I'm guessing it won't replace the current pump intake. If that's the case, do I need to either plug...
