Mechanically, nothing I suppose. the challenge is more in the integration with an automation system. The manual on the Pentair site details what programming you can do with it even without automation. http://www.pentairpool.com/products/products3.php?id=77

Thanks for the feedback ! As a software engineer, I am comfortable with figuring out the programming ... But I'll probably have to make it work on a Hayward/Goldline automation system. Allegedly it is possible but with limited features. That's just fine with me ... as long as I can program...

Umbrealla sleeves a tripping hazard ? PoolGuyNJ, you said umbrella sleeves were a potential tripping hazard ... how so ? I thought they were basically a 1 1/2" or so tube embedded in the gunite, flush with the plaster. Of course we wouldn't stick a wood shaft in it ... agreed ! Patrick
