Quick update. The pool repair company has found two leaks at the base where the fiberglass is entombed into the concrete and plaster. they are going to go around the outside with a specialty tool to create a joint, then re-seal and add water. I hope that it works this time?

They are coming tomorrow to diagnose where the leak is occurring and to fix it.

I am following you and this makes sense. Thank you! I am guessing the next step is to do dye testing everywhere that could potentially be a leak including the old main drain?

Interestingly enough, they decided to put in new main drains. But, they literally just poured concrete up against the old main drain. About 1/3rd of it you can still see and it does not appear to be capped in any way?

The pipes did fill when they filled the pool to an extent I guess. It would not leak down 18 inches based on that amount of water in pipes I would not think?

There isn't plumbing at the level of the pool water though. That is the confusing part to me.

We do have a basement. That makes sense though.

I apologize in advance for the length of this post. My wife and I have been through a terrible experience and we are really lost as to who we can trust. Last april, our 42 X 16 fiberglass pool that was two years old popped..... The hydrostatic pressure built up on the outside of the pool walls...
