    SWG Install (Circupool RJ45)

The manual states to install the controller 10' away from the edge of the pool. Why? I don't plan on installing up against the pool but my pump/filter system is only about 3' from the pool and would like to have the controller in that area. I've read to install the cell at a level higher than...

    SWG...still waiting...

No it is not. What I was attempting to do was to give credit to a business for their customer service and while it is not strickly forbidden for people who are not in the industry to post company names it appears that it is not done here. If someone wants to know more then they could PM me...

    SWG...still waiting...

however, I found out today that they have the 2011 models and are waiting for the 2012's to arrive so they can ship out the newer model. Have to say I like that. The only critique (kinda) is they should have explained that a little better up front. Anyway, it should be here next week. The...

Working TA down...when to add CYA

I am currently working my TA down from >500. I currently show 270 though the TA doesn't appear to drop everytime I add acid. I aerate/add acid to move the pH from 7.0 to 7.6/7.8. I've add bleach for chlorine and I have some 3" chlorine tabs left over from last year and it seems to be keeping...

    CYA Test Accuracy

I know I am new to TroubleFreePools but I do have some experience in running tests that use the "black dot" method. The key is to control the light shining through the vial as well as the ambient light. I plan to use the light from my speedstir and conduct the test in a room where I have total...

Starting over and converting to salt

I turned my one jet up so the water would break the surface somewhat but that didn't seem to be moving the pH very much (or as fast I want it to...). I purchased a wet/dry vac to help me clean the pool and it so happens the motor can be removed and used as a leaf blower...so hose in hand and...

Starting over and converting to salt

I have the pH down to 7.2 and the TA down to 350. I added some bleach for chlorine because I didn't want the pool sitting there very much longer without anything. The chlorine is ~1ppm. So now, I need to aerate to bring the pH up so I can add more acid to continue to bring down the TA...

Starting over and converting to salt

When I get the TA and pH right, should I add bleach or just add the salt, let it dissolve and turn on the swg?

Starting over and converting to salt

I have the TF-100 with a SpeedStir. I've tested the TA several times and it comes out the same, 500 - 550.

Starting over and converting to salt

My 1 year old pool had become a major mess. It was so bad that my DE filter would plug within minutes so I decided to drain, clean and refill. That was a chore in and of itself but I did get some equipment that will help me in the future (small submersible pump that will be used to remove the...

    Well water as fill water

Does the hardness test in the TF100 just measure calcuim hardness or both calcuim and magnesium? I purchased a TF100 and am waiting on it to arrive and wanted to know if it is a good kits for testing well water (for the basics that is). TIA.
