My salt light sometimes says it's low, when i know it's not. There is a way to calibrate it, which i have done, but it's still not very consistent or accurate. Get some salt test strps and ignore the light.

my CYA was 9 ppm- so I really didn't need a work around. The low CYA was the problem, because it wouldn't hold chlorine without the cover. I guess it's possible she just didn't understand how everything worked. I shocked it two days in a row and the pool is clear. I'm adding 8 lbs of CYA now...

There is some guy on Ebay selling instructions on on how to make the liquid solar covers. After doing some research, I figured it a fatty Alcohol dissolved in rubbing alcohol. Has anyone else tried to make their own liquid solar covers/ blankets?

I would close it. I would start the pool back up as soon as you are sure it' is not going to freeze and go after the algae then.

Borax will help a lot. :-D

After trying the Borax, I'm a believer. It will take you several trips to walmart to get enough, but it is worth it. Since i raised my CYA to 70ppm and my Borates to 50 ppm, my pool has truly been trouble free!

I have a IC-40 and and a 28000 gallon pool when I first installed it I could not keep chlrine in the pool, even running 80%. The water was always clear also. I had 45 ppm CYA and 35 PPM Borates. I'm now running it at 20%! I'm sure I had algae in the pool, even though the water was clear. I...
