    I'll honestly say that I don't know that I have ever had a SWG pool get MA.... interestingly...the guys from Coral sea's are the ones that told us their product used Bromide.... the msds doesn't lie tho :-D

    check into the kits listed here on the site. http://www.troublefreepool.com/pool-school/pool_test_kit_comparison he test strips and digital reader really shouldn't be used for making adjustments, just quick checking for "ok" levels. the 6 drop you picked up is a simple introduction to pool...

    Pentair Valve Gasket--any tips?

    There is a gasket on that cap that may need servicing (clean and lubricate) or replacing if it is cracked/stretched.

    agreed...looks like some sort of stain. the chemicals added in the past by the pool guy may have temporarily bleached these stains, or the source of the staining is still in or being added to the pool by a nearby source.

    a difference in chemical balance.... Jason hit it right on the mark..... correct the high chlorine and low ph levels and I bet the problem is resolved....borates are always a great addition but I would resolve those two issues first. I'd be curious of what a water sample from the school and...

    Re: Pool turned cloudy overnight yes but isn't 70 a bit lower than even the typical "low" level? I don't see much relevance but it caught me by surprise. Terry have you backwashed recently? Have you ever refreshed the Zeo as Zeo Sand suggests?

    Looks AWESOME! Great clean install on that equipment pad.... make sure and find a good source for Jandy parts now though....few places carry them in this neck of the woods (awesome equipment just no one carry's the replacement parts for some reason)!!!! Can't wait to see the finished product!

    not that it couldn't be used but i've never heard this....however I have used monopersulfate (non chlorine) shock to do so. chemgeek definitely knows his stuff....that's obvious....but testing of the water 24 hours later shows that the bromide isn't present
