Pool Lights - off, then on, then off, then on

Thanks for the response Jim. Yes the new bulbs looked the same to me as the old ones.

Pool Lights - off, then on, then off, then on

I have not removed the lights from the pool since I replaced the bulbs. I saw the warning not to operate the lights out of the water. I got the part number for the bulbs off of the light fixture. Now I know Pentair doesn’t make bulbs but could modern bulbs burn hotter than 25 year old ones

Pool Lights - off, then on, then off, then on

So my pool has 4 Pentair Aqualights. Three are in the pool and one in the spa. These lights have a 250 watt halogen bulb. None of the lights worked when we moved in last year. I have done a lot of electrical work in the pool pad area and the last thing on the list was the lights. So I...

    Pool lights repair or replace

Thanks AJ. At $300 a piece new, I decided to try new bulbs and seals first. There doesn’t seem to be a led replacement so it looks like I have to stick with what I’ve got.

Solar Pool Heater 300ft from pool

My piping is below ground. About 2/3 of it is about 12 to 16 inches deep the other 1\3 is only 3 or 4 inches deep. Heat loss from above ground pipe is minimal. The water is moving too fast In the pipe. The largest heat loss is of course the surface of your pool.

Solar Pool Heater 300ft from pool

My ground mounted solar rack is 225 feet from my equipment pad and is 60 feet long. My 2 hp pump has no problem with flow. I get 65 gpm with 2 inch pipe. For 300 feet you might think about using 2 1/2 inch pipe and if that’s not enough you could try a solar booster pump. I got a couple of bids...

    Pool lights repair or replace

So I have 4 Pentair pool lights that don’t work. I’ve tested the circuit and determined it’s the lights themselves. The are Pentair series 77 lights but I don’t really see a part number for the whole fixture. There are numbers for replacement parts (bulb, gasket and retaining screw). I looked...

    Solar Panel Heaters

All my pipe is 2 inch. I get about 63 gpm. I had a proposal giving to me by a solar installer and they wanted to install 2.5 inch pipe so that the system would achieve 70gpm. That wasn’t necessary.

    Solar Panel Heaters

I installed a solar heating system for our pool over the off season. It has 672 sf of panel surface area. That is about 83% of pool surface area. We just started using it last month. It’s great. Temp here today was 77 and the pool reached 84. I have a 2 hp pump and the panels are 225 feet...

    Return Jets

I just measured the threads for the returns in the pool. 1 3/4 inches. I did a quick web search but so far no luck. I’ll keep looking

    Return Jets

So I realized this week that my pool doesn't have jets in the water returns. I have 4 pipes with threads in the wall of the pool but thats it. Now I'm just wondering which jets do I need. I see that there are 1/2", 3/4" and 1" eyeballs but is that the only difference. Are there different...

Aqualink RS4 Help - Solar Automation

I have a gas heater. I changed the #8 dip switch from off to on, turned off the power, took out the battery and let it sit that way for 3 minutes and turned it on again. There was no change. So I did it again this time changing #8 back to off and again no change. I don’t know what is...

Aqualink RS4 Help - Solar Automation

Thank you for the reply Pool Clown. So to answer your questions, yes I do have the heat pump priority set to off. Yes the solar temp sensor is on the 3 and 4 pin. Now the polarity was something I didn't think about so I checked it and it was correct. Now I don't think my solar sensor is a...
