sequestrant no longer working on metals in water

Can you honestly look at that picture and believe it may be mostly deposited on the wall?? I DO understand what ascorbic acid does! BUT, it apparently lets the metals back into the water as soon as you increase CL! I don't think, ANYONE is looking for a temporary fix to this problem so I'm...

sequestrant no longer working on metals in water

Thanks DirtyRat91! I appreciate it! I'm pretty disgusted at this point myself! First time in 10 years I've had this happen! Par for the course this pool season! :(

sequestrant no longer working on metals in water

The thread I followed was this one. There's not a single word there about using a particular type/kind of sequestrant. Yes, the pH has been kept at 7.2. I did use Jack's magic step prior to this catastrophe. I am assuming that this is what caused the problem since I didn't lower my CL before...

sequestrant no longer working on metals in water

I don't call my pool looking worse than it did a success. I have used 1 1/2 gallons of sequestrant...are you telling me that that isn't enough? Nowhere in the AA post does it specify a particular kind of sequestrant...now you're telling me that there's a specific kind I should be using...

sequestrant no longer working on metals in water

. This is where I am today.. the exact same place I was last week, only worse and a little poorer! I’m at a real loss at what to do about it. I have never had it this bad in my 10 years as a pool owner. I could drain and refill, but the stains would still be there! I’ve seen a whole lot of...

sequestrant no longer working on metals in water

I have taken tap water and pool water to Leslie’s for testing. They used test strips and said both (copper and iron) are reading 0!

sequestrant no longer working on metals in water

Hi Zea. I do not have well water, just city water. I have no idea what the metal it is but am suspecting iron based on what I've read. In the AA treatment thread there is this - "Here are two important notes: High ph along with high chlorine will precipitate any metals that are not...

sequestrant no longer working on metals in water

Re: checking myself with the ascorbic acid, sequestrant along with polyquat 60 proces it Hi Wulfdan. I believe that is what started this mess! The original issue started with me SLAMming for MA when it appears now that I did not have. I'm at a loss as too, with as much sequestrant as I have...

sequestrant no longer working on metals in water

metals STILL causing problems! Well, I guess starting a new thread may help...last week I spent all week getting rid of metals in my water only for them to come back just as bad as before! At this point, I have now added a gallon and a half of sequestrant to this water over the course of the...

Re: checking myself with the ascorbic acid, sequestrant along with polyquat 60 proces :bump: The steps are much improved this morning. So, add more sequestrant??

sequestrant no longer working on metals in water

checking myself with the ascorbic acid, sequestrant along with polyquat 60 process Dang it! [emoji20] 10:30 am - CL was 2, pH was 7.2, added 22 oz bleach and 16 oz sequestrant because the steps had a slight shade to them that wasn't white!; 2:30 pm - CL was .5, pH was 7.2, steps definitely...

sequestrant no longer working on metals in water

Re: checking myself with the ascorbic acid, sequestrant along with polyquat 60 proces So, the CL is starting to hold...took it up to 3 last night and it was at 2 this morning. The pH is steady at 7.2. This morning the steps were starting to stain again so I have just added more sequestrant...
